RE: A small bit of peace - Kajika - Jun 04, 2022

The fact of the matter was he didn't know anything about this woman. Well except for the fact that she had some relation to the cove wolves and she felt protective over Moonshadow. So all of this dancing around things only made the large man more curious.

As it turned out Namid was
Woya's aunt and as she stated that made her cousin to Aleister. Things were now a bit clearer.

"Namid was a kind woman and a good leader," he commented, "I miss her dearly. You do have a point about the mountain though. Living here is not for the faint of heart."

He could remember it taking sometime for him to get used to the terrain and even the weather. Now it was his home and had been for some time. It was where he was most comfortable and it was where wolves he cared about lived. A part of his family that he didn't have living away from the lore.

"Were you here when the coyotes were?"

To his credit, he was correct to speak highly of Aunt Namid. She had been highly favored by Woya as well, and even as an unruly yearling she had adored every one of the older woman's visits. Kajika agreed with her too about the nature of the pass, at least to some extent, but the Macieo was still content to let the conversation fizzle and die there. It annoyed her further when he managed to keep her rooted to the spot yet again with a simple query.

Coyotes? If this was some random, stupid old man story...

"What yotes?" Woya asked, sour yet attentive.

Kajika smiled at memories of Namid but when the last memory he had of her ran through his mind he frowned. The closer his time came as it had done for her he found himself thinking more on that day. It had truly been one of the sadest in his lifetime. As much as he hoped there wouldn't be more he knew that it was unavoidable.

However, it would seem that his sparring partner hadn't been in the lore when the coyotes came. "The ones that over ran the lore," he stated simply, "It had become dangerous to travel outside of pack territory alone."

The man spoke casually, making it even more difficult for her to tell if he was being hyperbolic or not. Given her Aunt had been the main source of information for what happened within this region, this was very much novel to the small wolf's ears. She knit her brows and frowned, lips nearly pursing as she struggled to decide if this was something worth hearing or not.

Finally, begrudgingly, Woya fully faced Kajika and lowered her haunches to the ground.

"Fine, geezer. Tell me about this yote hoarde."

He might have been baiting her or maybe it was a test to see what might catch her attention. Whatwver his motive was it worked, she couldn't ignore it and this he considered a win against the woman who seemed to be unaffected by anything.

He chuckled at her us of the term Geezer. It didn't bother the dark man since he was well are that he was getting old. Besides it was something that should be expected from her.

"Very well," he said relaxing into the story as he started, "It was spring about two or three years ago now. We were all here on the mountain just going about our lives when the reports started coming in..."
