It wasn't long before both girls were out, Addy tucking immediately into Woya's side with hardly a glance Enera's way. The older girl's ears flicked. Somebody was grumpy today. Sova, at least, seemed pleased to see her. Enera snorted out a laugh and smiled as the girl invited her to join them. "I'm okay right now," she hummed, "You and Addy enjoy."

The eldest Rayvne looked to the woman who had agreed to care for her sisters as if they were her own. "Thank you," she said for what must have been the thousandth time since that day. "They look so healthy." It was a relief; she was worried they'd be sick, since their birth had killed their mama. She seemed to have kept the misfortune to herself, however, and her final daughters grew strong.
