Chan was thankful things did not escalate. Those words would stick with him, but for now he was happy to push them out of his mind and focus instead on Nash finally softening. He leaned into the gesture, meeting his brother's crown with his own briefly.
He supposed that was the best he could expect. Still... he wished Nash would agree, instead of tying himself here with obligations he did not owe. Maybe some of the others would feel the same, perhaps they could talk one another into letting go. If they didn't, though... ? Chan hoped... they would at least visit the Falls. Because if the only chance he got to see them again was by returning to the mountain peaks, this would be the last time.
"... just... remember, you're all worth so much more than land or history ever can."
Dying for it was absurd. He couldn't mold what was important to his sibling's heart, though. Nash had the right to continue living his life as he saw best.
