She was not fully aware, and she kept her gaze on him as he stated he would be off to find something. She assumed it meant there was a fever. She felt hot, overheated, but she had been almost certain it had just been the weather, or perhaps even an early sign that something had taken inside of her… the fact that there appeared to be a fever brought her some measure of relief. As if she could breathe a little easier at the fact that it was not proof of children, at least not yet.

She offered a gentle nod. That was all she could offer in the moment. She’d turn her gaze to the water’s edge for a moment before her attention turned back to the meal he had caught, once more forcing down another small bite. It would take time, but she would get through it. She had demanded it and she could not see it go to waste, not knowing intimately the struggles with being a loner, when it came to food.

Water. Food. Plants.

It felt holistic… as if he cared, and she still was not certain that was the case. She was certain he only cared as to whether or not their tryst was to turn into something more, something living… but she would take what she could get for now.

He would not allow himself to think any more on it, on her fever, her alleged illness. For now, Vili would think only of plants, and water, and healing, and righting the wrongs that had been done, as if giving a fuck might somehow erase the possibility that something had taken inside of her.

He would not offer her more words, but rather, action, as he brought her the best he could whip up in a short period of time. Once again, Vili had to admit that he was no healer. Dosages weren't really his thing, so he retrieved what he could and figured that they could simply start with the smallest possible dose and work their way up. That way, at least, if she were.. with child... the life within would not be in danger.

She did not understand him, but she felt a certain comfort in his silence… even if that comfort was a fool’s bargain. Even if that comfort was a falsity she found out of hope that the world might not be cruel to her if anything had taken… perhaps even a longing for connection or understanding. She did not know.

She would lay her head down after she had taken his dosage, finding a certain measure of tiredness aching into her bones, perhaps from the nausea, and fighting back the desire to wretch all over the ground next to her.

Whatever it was, it was miserable, and she certainly hoped it didn’t linger because of a child, because that meant it would not be ending anytime sooner.
