jabberwocky - Fenru - Oct 05, 2012 The sight of the coyote fleeing back the way it had come, back towards him, had Fenru stirring up a ruckus. His fur stuck out in every direction and his body arched upward just slightly to make himself seem much larger than he already was. His tail was raised menacingly opposed to being held level as it would be if he were hunting down prey. He wanted to be sure this trespasser knew he was one of the pack wolves in these parts that did not take kindly to unfamiliar faces and this part of the Grove was his. jabberwocky - Corinna - Oct 22, 2012 [dohtml] Gone TomorrowThe coyote had fled, simple as that. Fenru had intimidated it to the point that any rebuttal would have been the same as the coyote committing suicide. Rather than take the risk of being mauled to death by the two overly protective wolves, the smaller canine had done the smart thing. Corinna had joined Fenru in the chase, snapping and snarling viciously at the terrified brown thing as it had tried to escape. They had chased it to the river banks, driving it into the water where it was able to make its escape. Prowling back and forth along the upper bank, Corinna's green eyes never left the coyote, until it had left the water and disappeared into the forest beyond. Only Fenru's angry shouts attracted her attention, and beginning to come down from the rush of adrenaline, Corinna padded over to him. Wagging her tail, she woofed happily as she approached. Nudging his cheek, she offered a lick to his cheek in approval. "Good job, son. That coyote won't be coming back any time soon," she confirmed, adding one last bark in the direction the intruder had run. The creature knew now that this area was home to a wolf pack, and if it had any sense at all, it would not come back. "You will make a wonderful guardian of Swift River. We'll have to tell your dad, he'll be so proud." Corinna's beaming smile was mimicked in her voice and taking a step backwards, she half turned to begin the journey back towards the pack so Fenru could share his adventure with his father and fellow pack mates. |
