And a Cherry's Mission is Done - Ecco - Nov 27, 2012

We should thread again in the near future. :)
Hollow was on his own as well. The entire background of his family and legacy, erased into history. Not that Ecco wished this upon anyone in particular, but it felt comforting to know there were others out in the world like herself who didn't have a place to comfortably call home amongst loved ones who shared the same blood. Hollow's mother left him with an eerie lesson to follow his heart wherever he destined to go in his life. The D'Oliva thought on that simple philosophy. Follow you heart, but everything happens for a reason in the same time. If everything happened for a reason, why was Ecco's reasoning to lose everything she aspired for? Why was it misfortune instead of a wholesome, happy, healthy life with a family and a leadership rank to step up to in the future? Was her reasoning for something else out there in fate? Ecco couldn't understand what could be a better fate than what was left behind in her past. Doesn't make sense whatsoever." Ruefully, Ecco nodded. "Follow your heart, even if it leads you to your end." The D'Oliva replied, rather cryptically. Following her heart this whole time, maybe her greater purpose was to travel as much as she could before her end.
Hollow led her to the copse he mentioned. It was small (a little too small for two, but it might prove to be tight on body heat if two snuggled together closely), with a rime of water droplets surrounding where there was either rain or dew formed. It looked cozy enough for one, with proper shelter from the elements. Ecco dropped the hare she carried before her paws, and was surprised when Hollow provided the vole for her own well being. She blinked. "Wait... what? No, I can't take this. Please. You already gave me more than enough." Ecco explained, but there was no arguing with Hollow as the offer was already done. With the addition of the vole, this meal could tide her over for a day. It would at least be a hearty meal she had not had in awhile.
For the first time in a long time, her amber gaze glowered in gratitude. Her expression silently spoke volumes of gratefulness of meeting Hollow, and what a gentleman he proved to be. Unfortunately, Hollow would leave Ecco to herself, once again. There was a part of her who was sore on longing for some company for the night, but the D'Oliva wouldn't question this against Hollow. All lone wolves had their own destinies to run after. Wishing her farewell to whatever travels he destined to take, Ecco stepped forward, as if wanting to stop him from leaving, but her words fell short. There was nothing she could say, only to express gratitude. "Hollow... thank you. Thank you for everything. Be safe out there." A smile flitted on her muzzle, watching him disappear into the orchard. Ecco certainly hoped to cross paths with Hollow again. Taking her meals and disappearing into the copse herself, at least on this night she would be well fed and have a comfortable place to sleep under the stars. [/doHTML]
