RE: heart of stone, honor of gold - Narimé - Mar 04, 2013 [dohtml]
Unsure of where Tempest or Guiness were Nari guessed that the deer was still too fast for them, or perhaps they misjudged the time when they were supposed to attack. Throwing caution to the side the silver she wolf sprang forward aiming for the creatures throat. Her timing was right and her teeth snapped on the doe's throat. She let herself hang on its neck further slowing the creature down so that one of the thorbens might catch up to help her out. As it was just then the fight was only between Nari and the deer. Who's stamina would last the longest. This game was right up the silver wolfs alley.
A few minutes passed with the doe bucking and tripping forward over the silver hunter. Nari felt her legs get banged a few times by the deers own shins. She hoped it wouldn't roll forward to try and get her off though. Where was everyone? Nari's grip was failing and although the deer would definately die in a few days from blood loss or infection They would have to track it to wherever it had fleed to. That was if Nari let go. Which was something she really did not want to do.
The doe yanked itself sideways and Narimé got a clear view of Phineas white coat. She hoped he was okay but hoped all the more that Narimé would not get injured when she had to let go. Her jaw muscles burned like fire until she couldn't take it anymore. Tensing her legs to catch her the gray wolf let go and dropped to the ground. The doe kicked out at her nearly hitting the young woman in the head. Rolling sideways Nari narily dodged the strike and watched as the doe stumbled and leapt away.
Standing up the gray willow wolf shook out her fur and padded lazily over to Phineas. She nudged his shoulder with a concerned look in her eyes before stepping back and yawning to lessen the ache in her jaws.
"I guess we'll have to track it later. I'm pretty sure it won't be surviving too long with those injuries." She shrugged her shoulders then turned her blue gaze to the direction of the fleeing deer. She could see it struggling past the willows. I hope it doesn't go too far though.. Dissappointment was written all over her face. [/dohtml] RE: heart of stone, honor of gold - Shade - Mar 04, 2013 Shade nodded and his eyes narrowed around him, he needed to concentrate on this prey. That meant he needed to push all the never-ending troubles out of his mind so he could be the hunter he knew he could be. Granted he was having the official title of Guardian, he was still a pretty avid hunter. Though that was with the smaller prey, he had never been to a pack hunt. He had taken down a deer with Skana before they both joined the Ridge. He’d been on a zombie deer hunt with Sica, Narimé, Elettra and himself. But in all of that, he had never been on a successful pack hunt. That was the key right? Bringing back food for the pack would be his goal until no longer needed, that as well as guarding the borders, until he was gone. Rosealia and himself both, if she agreed with his plan, it was a secret that was locked inside the inner depths of his brain. He could talk to Rosealia about that after this hunt was done with. His tail was still curled; it was a game of follow the leader. He saw the disappointment on Narimé’s face. He had been so warped into his thoughts that he had missed what had happened. He heard Narime talk of not getting far with the injuries. He hoped it wasn’t another zombie deer hunt. That was all he needed right now. A zombie whatever that they were going to bring home. RE: heart of stone, honor of gold - Tempest - Mar 04, 2013 [dohtml] Tempest waited and it seemed to be taking a while to tire the beast out. For some reason the deer was not headed their way and she began to make her way closer. Before she could get there, she saw Phineas take a blow to the chest that sent him flying. Narime' then lunged for the creature and got a grip on it's neck. The deer proceeded to buck and flail, bumping the silver fae several times, but it couldn't dislodge her. After an impressive ride hanging on the neck, Nairme' finally had to releas her grip and fell to the ground. The deer struck out at her, causing Tempest to gasp with worry, but thankfully the dangerous hooves missed the daring young girl. With renewed determination, Tempest took off after the beast. It had been so focused on the two wolves at it's back that it had made the fatal mistake of running towards Tempest. This was a good thing since she would never have been able to chase it down, even wounded. When it finally saw the large russet wolf jump out of the scattered shrubbery at a dead run it was too late. Tempest launched herself into the air, jaws wide and aiming for the already damaged neck. Milliseconds later, her teeth sank into the warm flesh and she hung much as Narime' had. She was a bit larger and the creature had already been weakened by it's flight and earlier thrashing. The result was that her mass caused the deer to loose it's footing and stumble with her still clinging tenaciously to it's ragged throat. As the pair tumbled to the ground and her own body smacked into the frozen ground the wind left her lungs and she had to release her grip. The deer was panting and struggling to get it's legs beneath it and run again. When she too attempted to stand, she yelped as she put her left front paw on the ground. Somewhere in the mix of bodies she had twisted it or it had gotten kicked, she wasn't sure which. All she knew was the for the moment she could not use it and the deer was nearly back on it's feet. She could only hope that Guiness or one of the others could finish it off. She snarled her pain and frustration at the deer as it finally found it's feet and began to stagger off, it's own gait off kilter with weakness and injury. If nothing else, she had slowed it down some more. She finally managed to get to her three good feet, her injured paw lifted off of the snowy ground and watched the deer hobble off. Then she turned her head to try and locate her other pack mates and see how they fared. RE: heart of stone, honor of gold - Guiness - Mar 07, 2013 I am so sorry! I am a terrible person. Hope this is alright. <33 [dohtml]
He was much like a shadow to his sister, sticking with her, ready for the hunt completely and doing whatever it took to take the deer down. The pack needed food, now with the shortage in members. He silently scaled his sister’s side, keeping his golden amber eyes on the form of Narime. He did not wish for anything bad to happen to her, and a hunt was the perfect place for some kind of injury to take a hold on the young female. He did not think much of it though as he went near his sister, taking a position close to her and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Everything seemed to be going fine too. Narime, Phineas, Rose, and Shade were all herding the deer, at least that was what he thought. He soon, only saw Nari and Phin chasing their prey, and just as the opportunity had presented itself to the two Thorbens, did it quickly disappear from them. Guiness was large and he had plenty of strength, some called him Rock, but in what he had in strength he lacked in speed, and as the deer came closer to them, it slowly veered off track, and just as it had become close enough to where Guiness could have made the kill, did their prey take off into a different direction, Nari hot on its trails. Flickering his ear he watched quickly as the silver girl latched herself onto the animal, blood slowly being drawn from the throat. It would slow the animal down, and therefore it would give them an easier opportunity to take down the large thing. Clenching his jaw he spoke to Tem in a clipped tone, “Watch. Narime.” With his words he took off, his heart rate quickly speeding up and his pupils dilating. Their prey had broken away from Narime, but was now much slower, and slower meant much more clumsy. Hopefully the young girl had made it out fine while Guiness had scaled along the edge, his russet fur not blending in easily against the snow patched area. His pace soon increased though, to the point at when the deer finally slowed down, her came closer, his eyes flashing briefly and his fangs flashing against the flickering sunlight above. With a short snort he rammed his side into that of the animal, a large grunt escaping the man’s mouth as their prey toppled over, luckily, hitting its head on a rock. He watched the creature, making sure that it was indeed dead before inspecting the area around him. From what he could see, none of his pack mates were in sight. With a sigh he turned his head and probed his side, causing him to wince slightly. It was nothing major, but it would definitely keep him sore for a few days. Lifting his head, his deep, rumbling voice called forth to his pack mates, letting them know where he was, along with where their catch had fallen. RE: heart of stone, honor of gold - Phineas - Mar 13, 2013 I'm going to fade this guys.. I hope that's okay! I figure everyone is so busy with their pack creation, breeding season, wrapping up the BWP, etc that it'll be nice just to log this away. Thanks for participating. <3 If anyone does want to respond to this, just let me know and I'll get it back from the archives. :) [dohtml] [/dohtml] |
