RE: Just one more step, and I'll be half in - Chetan - May 01, 2013 [dohtml]

It had been so long since the taste of deer had graced his tongue and, truth be told, he was excited by the thought that he’d get another taste. The last time he had a bite was when he had a run in with the two lone males and that was hardly a memory that he wanted to relive. Filthy little shit bags, they were … scruffy, deadweight … the very thought of them infuriated him. Perhaps it was a good thing. It’d get him pumped for the hunt, that much was sure. The chase required as much energy as the kill and Maksim Baranski was more than ready to sink his teeth into something larger than a hare.
She had been sniffing out for a individual sent not clothed in flora when his bark rang her ears. She turned around dashing his way, legs taking long graceful strides. Her mind was set with determination as her mouth watered making her want food even more. As she caught up with him she said , "O-ok so-o y-you guys-s g-g-g-get it at-t a-a ru-run p-pl-please." Her words were laced with excitment as she broke away on a close path.
Bolting at top speed she came apon their future meal quickly. She walked hidden in the woods around it till she stood at the front of the beast. The doe was so unaware at the moment of them all, Perfect she thought planing out her attack. Instead of doing her usual tripping game she'd jump out of the brambles and hopefully latch onto the neck at the last moment before it passed her. Her tail wagged a little but she stopped it and grew tense with concentration and everything but the munching of the grass from the doe, singing birds, and small breeze fell silent.
Focusing on their sents she narrowed down how close the males were from arriving. Maksim being the closest she noted. This wait was definitely not droll, it was the complete opposite to the anxious wolf. She wanted her belly full so badly and the warm flesh's taste exploding on her taste buds. It was then she noticed something, their was a small newborn fawn laying under the doe. More food! she thought joyfully since if they killed the mom the baby would suffer all alone and was best to take down as well. She was strugling to contain herself with all these fantastic emotions burning inside of her.
He wasn’t sure how he felt but in the presence of Maksim and Charlotte he suddenly felt very uncomfortable. He wanted to help since he always had good intentions but somehow he didn’t find them the right company. They hadn’t done anything wrong per say. He hadn’t done anything wrong either but something simply did not feel right. He wanted to be a superhero, saving those in dire need. But that idea of being a superhero simply faded away with the dawn of time, perhaps it was a youthful dream he had to let go off or allow it to fade. The world, it didn’t work that way. It didn’t allow room for superheroes who were just mortal. He was just that, an ordinary wolf, and that is what he would always be.
Disappointed by that conclusion, he also felt it was time to move on, away from Charlotte and Maksim and even away from a chance to hunt together. When Charlotte had been released from her thorny problem it appeared as if nothing was wrong. She changed form an animal in urgent need, like a rabbit trying to breathe when its lung pipes were tightened by the bite of a wolf ..into a merry young grasshopper. Where did her fear go? Suddenly it appeared as if the big, bad wolf had not been there. Shaking his head, the male simply walked in opposite direction; hungry but saving his grace for today. At least he helped someone in need. Didn’t superheroes do that?

(Sorry, won't happen again. Well I'm just going to exit Sherry then.)

charlotte rose
thin skinned calcium sipper
Charlotte could smell Chetan's sent drifting so she decided this was useless, with out him they probably couldn't do this. So she barked loudly her fare well and sorry to the two before turning away. The doe and fawn fled at the sound but she gave no care as she travled towards Hush Meadow unknowingly. Though it would be two long days before she arrived she'd find food there and everything would be okay for her.
Charlotte took off at a run, her speed amazing. Her legs took long quick strides then rushed back to her underside before repeating. She suspected next time, if there was, she'd be much more suspicious of Chetan do to his sudden departure while Maksim on the other hand she'd be more brave around.
