RE: On Thin Ice - Kyadi - May 09, 2013 Agreed. Minka is absolutely adorable. xD They'll have to meet again in the future some time I think. [dohtml] The wind blew. Another shiver decided to make itself a nuisance. Here she was, thinking she was done with that! But she supposed shivering was good: she was still strong enough for the action. All the while, a particular motion did not go unseen by the healer: the tawny woman moving to block as much of that wind as possible. This girl was too good. What wolf did so much without wanting something in return? Even if Minka would claim otherwise, Kyadi would remind herself: she would owe something to Minka. The favor would be called upon eventually - this night could be used against Kyadi. Even so, she was grateful for it.
Then again, maybe... maybe, just maybe, Minka was as selfless as she seemed. For a moment, Kyadi was reminded of someone loved and missed, and she found it a little harder to think poorly of the other woman... moreso when Minka became insistent and settled down at the entrance of their makeshift den; when she knew Minka wasn't looking, a smile formed on Kyadi's maw. She made no attempt to hide a soft chuckle and a sigh as she shook her head at the girl. What could she say? Her life had just been saved by this young wolf. She supposed... if a favor were ever called in, she would answer it. Whether she liked it or not. This girl was good... the only problem with good wolves was their tendency to break. Kyadi's smile vanished as she curled her paws as close to her body as she could - whatever she could to keep herself warm. Her chin rested close to her paws, and her tail coiled close. The wet mop of fur could provide little warmth for her wet nose, but it'd do for now.
Time passed and Kyadi appeared to sleep - maybe she did for a time. At least once in the night she awoke to find her silent guardian still by the entrance, her sides rising and falling steadily in the patterns of sleep. Softly, so softly she could never wake the girl, Kyadi whispered: "Thank you Minka." She had thanked the girl earlier, noting she would owe something to the lass then. Now, she merely thanked her. When morning came, Kyadi would leave in silence, before the sun was high... and before she could be stopped. "I hope life is kinder to you than it has been to me."
