RE: staying up - Lachesis - Jul 27, 2013
[dohtml]<b style="font-family:Georgia; font-size:12px;"> pretty table! :o <3
Without thinking the boy scoffed at her ‘mind reading’ comment, pear gaze studying the reddish female for a moment before trailing off as he feigned disinterest. <b style="font-family:Georgia; font-size:12px;">“You sh-should stay away from m-mine,” he started in a low voice, head still turned away as the words fell off his tongue. <b style="font-family:Georgia; font-size:12px;">“There are thing h-hiding in there that y-you don’t want t-to see.” XIX nearly cursed his stuttering aloud as his muzzle wrinkled in annoyance – he knew he was getting better, but it was frustrating when his words struggled to fall from his mouth especially when he was trying to be all menacing ‘n shit. Stuttering definitely did not make him look like a ‘tough guy’.
The lanky Arctic only returned his chartreuse gaze to the blue-eyed girl when she uttered his disgust at the idea of eating puppies. Although Lachesis thought that the idea of chowing down on children was absolutely horrifying, the yearling couldn’t admit that now. It wasn’t part of the game that he had unknowingly stumbled into. <b style="font-family:Georgia; font-size:12px;">“You’d b-be surprised,” he replied with a soft roll of his shoulders, a crooked grin pressed against his dark lips. <b style="font-family:Georgia; font-size:12px;">“D-don’t you want to look this y-young and beautiful forever?” The words even stunned Lachesis as they were spoken and his ear twitched in shock at his sudden confidence. It had already gone too far to back out so suddenly, so the pale yearling was forced to play along even further. He couldn’t deny, though, that he was enjoying the odd conversation that had sprouted up between him and the blue-eyed stranger. <b style="font-family:Georgia; font-size:12px;">“Don’t knock it ‘til you t-try it.”

Fiora Geddes
harlot, starlet, raising hell all over town
aww thank you ♥
The ruddy yearling pursed her lips at her pale companion's warning, the strength of her disbelief in his fouled mind foiled as her ears pressed against her skull as though she were truly concerned. "I don't scare easy," she murmured. What was it in his head that would make her so queasy? Tiny skeletons? A floor coated in something sticky and red? The heat of hellfire surrounding anyone who wound up in there, invisible flames licking at your heels with no surrender? Woah, she was actually starting to creep herself out. Blinking hard she grounded herself in their game once more, wiping her thoughts clean of any devil imagery.
But she fell prey to his suave game, eating up his crooked smile and devious sayings with enthusiasm. She hardly noticed his stutter anymore; the content of his story was of far greater interest than little nuances in the telling. She was just as struck as Nineteen when the words young and beautiful rolled off his silver tongue, giving a flick of her tail in acknowledgement of the phrase. Had this been any other encounter, Fiora might have melted into a pile at his feet for such a stroke of the ego. She was, of course, incredibly flattered even if it turned out it was just part of the ruse. Fiora was coming to like her buddy quite a lot.
"I can't deny that there seems to be some benefits to your weird diet," she said stiffly, trying her 'hardest' not to 'give in'. She pressed her blunt claws into the mossy ground beneath them, quickly running her ice-colored gaze from side to side. "How about we go see if we can find some kiddies? See if it's worth it after all." She started toward him, pausing briefly at his side to whisper, "I am quite vain," before she would push passed him and further into the silent woodland. The stale air seemed to hint they weren't going to find any other life out here than fungus, but a little adventure was worth the trouble.
sorry 'bout it

It was strange to think of how easily the ghost had managed to slip into the persona of another – XIX was far from the wolf he was portraying himself to be. However, his accuracy and the words that stained the air between the two wolves startled the Trail yearling. The blue-eyed girl before him had managed to expose this side of him that not even Lachesis had seen before. He had always believed that he would be forever awkward and nervous; it was all he had ever known and who he was. Nineteen had believed that he would never be capable of breaking free of the unwanted shell that cloaked him, but the more wolves he encountered the more he realized how easy it really was.
Lachesis was truly astonished that the blue-eyed stranger was still playing into his words, almost as if she was captivated (and unnerved) by the words falling off his tongue. How was he supposed to break it to her that he was nothing but a nervous wreck? She would probably think of him as a deranged scumbag – something that XIX definitely was not. Even the words that he was using left an unsettling feeling in his stomach (he could not believe he was being so revolting!) but Nineteen would not let it show. He had to sell the Puppy Killer and could not allow any of his discomfort to surface – eventually the truth would come out, but not yet. The ghost was not ready for that yet.
<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px;">“And you have every right to be vain,” he purred in response as he stepped toward her, his long legs struggling to keep in time with her shorter strides. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px;">“Young p-puppies are obviously the best,” he started, rather impressed with himself as his stutter seemed to (temporarily) diminish, <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px;">“But of c-course they’re very rare. G-gotta catch them while they are on their own…” His voice trailed off as he watched her movements, allowing his to slow down as he kept his pear gaze focused on her shoulders. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px;">“The b-best technique is to sneak up on them and … pounce!” And with that comment, the boy flung himself toward the female with a wide grin stretching his lips as he aimed for the spot between her shoulders.
