RE: the echo of angels - Jericho - Aug 07, 2013

Like Shrapnel, Jericho would not have been against staking a claim of his own in the area if it had been a possibility for him – but with just him and Hush living here there wasn't much of a chance that he'd be able to hold down and defend any territory for long. Even if he managed to get a space that wasn't in the immediate vicinity of another pack he knew that most wolves did not take kindly to strangers thinking of making themselves permanent rulers in a space that they might consider useful to them. The best way to become a part of this place for the likes of himself and Shrapnel was to slide into the ranks of an already existing pack or to linger unnoticed and under the radar as lone wolves, not stirring up too much trouble.

Coming to his feet, perhaps somewhat abruptly though not too swiftly as not to excite an unwanted reaction from his much larger companion, Jericho murmured. “Well, I should be on my way.” No explanation was offered for this – the truth was that he hadn't found much new information about the area and if he didn't get moving it was likely that he wouldn't discover anything worth reporting back to Hush. He didn't offer up this explanation to Shrapnel simply because he didn't owe the man one and furthermore he doubted that the wolf much cared for Jericho's thought process and reasons anyway. There seemed to be very little for them to discuss further and thus little reason to stick around, they were still strangers and Jericho wasn't one to prolong a meeting simply for the sake of doing so.
