RE: Glowing - Harp - Sep 23, 2013 [Sounds good to me :) [dohtml] Harp's ears flicker as the wolf speaks. She pauses now, her body turning slightly to the left as the words echo through her head. Life is hard. These first words were well known to her. Having thrived with her slight limp, having to listen to the other wolves talk down to her.. she was no different than they. Her jaws begin to part as the second part is processed through her mind. Rise from it. A slight butterfly feeling occurs in her stomach, and the woman turns and faces the wolf full on now.
"That is all one can do" she says simply, her golden eyes looking toward the woman. Harp's nose twitches as she wishes she was the one feasting on the bass. There was nothing she could do now. Something pulls at her within a few moments, like she should say something else to the wolf that had pirated her fish. Harp's throat feels as if it is tightening. Her annoyance had decreased fairly, and her mind was calming. Her body, though, was still under the impression that she was aggravated.
Harp rolls her shoulders casually before she turns again. She stretches slightly, then listens to hear for any more words from the thief that lay yards away. In her mind, Harp was glad the fight was quick- it would have been ridiculous for her to get torn up over a damn fish. There were plenty of others to catch... and besides, they were easier to catch (for her) rather than a land animal. [/dohtml] RE: Glowing - Sagacity - Sep 23, 2013 [dohtml] Sagacity was surprised by the maturity of the woman. Rather than grumbling and stalking off angrily, she turned and simply accepted what Sagacity had said. In that instant, the tiny bit of her which had told her to be more moral won out. There was something distinct about the dignity the woman earned when she accepted the fact that Sagacity had competed for the fish and had won. She'd taken the walk of a wolf who was not proud but noble, and Sagacity knew that she herself was no such wolf. While she'd won the fish, she definitely had not won any medals for being a good wolf. She was a survivor, she told herself stubbornly, and she accepted that thought, though she weighed it against being civil. It wasn't necessary that she steal the fish from the woman who now reluctantly walked away from her own catch. Sagacity hadn't been starving. Nor was she unable to fish for herself.[/dohtml] RE: Glowing - Harp - Sep 23, 2013 [dohtml] What happened next was a bit of a surprise to the Lafalia woman. As her paws begin to tread the lush grasses, she hears Sagacity speak once more. Have the rest. Harp turns now, only to see the end tail of the woman as she disappears. Her head cocks to the side as she stands in her tracks. How curious. Did she have a change of heart? With her stomach rumbling, Harp would not decline the offer. She paces up to the remainder of the bass she had caught a bit ago. The scent of it was overly enticing; the woman began to eat right away.
Fish was an important staple of her diet. Back where she hailed from, Wispy Cove, fishing was a skill to be expected of her Tribe. She had taken to learning it at a young age, fishing beside her father whenever she could. To have a fish stolen from her was a slight insult, but she would not hold it against Sagacity. Her teeth tear at the scaled flesh, and the woman is soon in heaven. She would typically enjoy the meal, but she was too hungry at the moment to even think about such a thing. Though she was savoring the flavor of the aquatic creature, Harp was more concentrated on getting the food into her stomach. She would have to trail back to her new home pack, anyway.
After finishing the fish, she raises her head up slowly. Wincing at the stinging pain on her shoulders, her mind begins to stir with wonder. After a long stretch this time, she begins her journey home. Life is hard. Rise from it. [/dohtml] |
