His technique seemed to be working- Crowe would have to work much harder to try and catch the boy, who was able to evade the occasional snap of the man's jaws. His timing, however, wasn't the best, in that he hadn't quite been able to choose a time at which it'd be best to pounce and try to knock Crowe over. When the man lowered his centre of gravity to the ground, Mercy saw that all hope of knocking Crowe off his feet had gone. He should've made a move much earlier, but he was still in the learning process, and it was something he'd remember to use later on, when he was bigger. Waiting was good, but waiting too long wouldn't help him.

Amid a happy conversation of growls and snarls, the two scuffled and played, tussling and testing each other, and all the while Mercy learned a bit more about tackling an opponent. Though it wasn't a dangerous situation it all, he took his lessons seriously- what he learned while scuffling with Crowe would aid him not only in future fights, should one arise, but in hunting plans as well. There would be times when his prey was much bigger than he, and he would need to use what he learned, while fighting Crowe as a pup, in those situations. The male was an excellent role model and teacher, and made Mercy into a happy and very willing student. When both were tired, both from the playfight and all the laughter, they gave up and headed back home, more like father and son than ever.
