RE: The first meeting - Silver - Jan 27, 2014

( @Rayne )

"Try we shall, that is if you want." Slowly she moved out into the open. Leaving the warmth of shelter and Rayne's pelt. Hopefully he would choose to follow as she sniffed through the snow. It was then with nose down to the ground she saw small track beginning to fade. Perhaps they would lose the trail before the could even see the rabbits. Sighing softly she still nosed through the snow following light tracks.

Shaking her head she looked at Rayne. "The tracks are fading. The snow is covering them too fast." Standing out in the cold she looked out into the snowy lands. A blanket of white had sure enough covered this land. No hope for the loners out there alone. Maybe that was why she was driven to stay with Rayne. So that he wouldn't become one of those lost souls out in the cold. Lost in thought all she could do was stand there staring out. Perhaps Rayne thought she was crazy standing out in the snow but she didn't care.

With a soft sigh she turned around to go back to shelter. Crawling in next to Rayne she waited for the warmth from him to sink through her fur. His large russet figure gave off enough heat for the both of them. Despite his size and intimidating looks he had the kindest orange eyes she had ever seen. A strange thing to focus on but it was like she couldn't look away from them.

RE: The first meeting - Rayne - Jan 27, 2014

Rayne waited for Silver to leave his side before moving himself, sad over the lose of the warmth that was held between them when they were curled together. Waiting at the entrance, Rayne watched Silver sniff the snow nearby. Peering closely at the snow, he could barely make out any tracks and the few he could see were too faint to follow. And his suspicions were confirmed when Silver turned back, shaking her head.

Watching the dark pelted fae standing stark against the snowy white storm charging on about them, Rayne was struck with how beautiful Silver looked. It didn’t matter they were getting cold and he had least had begun shivering again. He wanted to stay by this fae’s side and keep her out of any sort of harm. Taking a few more steps out, Rayne went to call her back in but was halted when she turned around anyway, her golden eyes catching his orange and he gulped. What was happening to him?

Without a word, he was backing into the shelter again, knowing she would follow soon after and she did. Rayne let her curl back at his side ad for a brief moment, the thought that they were mates simply bunking down for the night, like his parents used to, crossed his mind. His throat tightened at the thought. No, they weren’t mates. Merely two wolves sharing a shelter in a bad storm, that’s all. Sighing heavily, he curled around Silver to help warm her up again and rested his chin on her shoulders again. There was a fear that should she get too cold, she would become ill and there would be no way for him to help. So he’d have to watch her waste away. Why was that fear there? Why was the urge to protect her, to care for her, there as well?

He barely knew the fae. Yes, it was in his nature to guard and protect but Silver was her own wolf, with a pack he would soon be meeting...

So why was it that the possibly of being spilt from Silver hurt him so much?

RE: The first meeting - Silver - Jan 27, 2014

Silver felt a small little 'shock' as Rayne wrapped around her resting his chin on her. She felt like she had known him her whole life when it had only been about an hour if even that. Accepting the sudden cuddles from him she smiled dumbly. She hadn't felt this way with Ace, so why was she feeling like this with Rayne? Surely it would pass over time.

"You're a decent fella Rayne." Closing her eyes she rested her head on his paws lightly. Her mind kept wandering to thoughts about this being a crush but she told herself it was nothing more then two strangers sharing shelter for warmth.

Opening one eye she whispered softly, "Maybe we could talk to each other more. You know, get to know each other better." It was a mere thought. The excitement of being with him in close quarters kept her from sleeping. Although the warmth and touch of him was soothing it also made her feel alive. Something she hadn't felt in a while. Though she like the feeling of it. As if it was a new experience for Silver. She had felt love with Ace, or what she thought what was love, but this felt strange. Like a foreign person in a new country Silver was lost in what to do or how to feel. Perhaps she just had a bad habit of falling to fast for the pretty boys. Yet maybe this time she could slow things down and work it out. She was tired of diving head first only to slam into the cold ground.

RE: The first meeting - Rayne - Jan 27, 2014

Huffing softly in agreement, Rayne closed his eyes for a moment. What did he want to know more of from the dark fae? Gnawing at the back of his mind was the question why she seemed to be so guarded of something but he had a sense if he asked what that was about, it would not end well. He was already trying to internally convince himself that the fact he was curled around her was because it would help her keep warm. Nothing more.

Opening his orange eyes again, Rayne decided on another question. ”What are you doing, braving this storm for? Hunting?” It was then remembered how far away she had spoken her pack was. ”Let’s hope your pack doesn’t worry after you. I’d hate to think what could happen to them in this...” He meant no harm in his words, only good fortune. These odd feelings, what was going on? There was a nagging feeling at the back of his mind, telling him just out of reach what he was experiencing. Desperately, he wanted to ask if Silver had any knowledge of this sort of thing but he held back. She’d ask why and there was no possible way he could lie to her. Ever. He’d tell her and there was a certainty that his words would terrify her.

After all, how else would she react if only after what seemed like an hour of knowing one another, he was confessing to love her? She’d bolt for sure, thinking him crazy.

RE: The first meeting - Silver - Jan 27, 2014

"Well, actually, I want to be a scout. I thought I wasn't wandering to far but then I ended up here in the storm. You?" She knew he was a Loner and that was probably why he was here, but maybe he had a better reason for being out here. Maybe Rayne had family he was visiting from some pack not to far from here.

Yawning lightly she squirmed a bit so that her back was more pressed against his side with her head on his paws. It was a comfortable position. Though she wouldn't make a comment on how she enjoyed laying like this. Or even how she enjoyed spending this time with him. It would only make things awkward and he would probably think of her as being strange. So she kept remembering this was nothing more then sharing warmth.

Letting a stream of air run from her mouth she went on to speak. "You have family around here?" It was a simple questions. She hoped he knew he didn't have to answer any of the questions if he didn't want to. Silver wasn't going to force anything onto him. That wasn't like her to put someone under pressure. "You don't have to answer my questions if you don't want to Rayne." It was a strange feeling when she said his name. Almost like she could never grow tired of that one name. Rayne. She chuckled lightly at her thoughts. It was quite the thing to think of about this strange man.

RE: The first meeting - Rayne - Jan 27, 2014

”You want to be a scout?” It wasn’t repeated meanly, it was simply him echoing her softly. ”I’m not sure I could be a scout, not with my bulk.” Rayne shook his head, smiling as he felt her shift against him, trying to find a more comfortable position and he allowed her to. ”I don’t mind answering your questions Silver. I was actually trying to figure out where to go next, when the storm hit.” The russeted male answered truthfully.

When the question of family cropped up, Rayne couldn’t help but smiling wildly. He was still rather gidding about finding his sister, even days after finally seeing her after so long. ”Actually, that’s why I came here. Originally at least. I was looking for my sister. I hadn’t seen her in quite some time. I found her with some help of a friend and after see that was well and settled into her pack...” Here, Rayne faltered. How could he explain turning down the offer of a pack? Especially the one that his sister who he had been searching for so long for was in it? Senka had guessed easily enough and hadn’t pressed him much, though she had wanted him to wait out the winter with her. ”Well, I got itchy feet I guess.” He finished lamely, smiling sheepishly as he adjusted his position slightly to fit more comfortably against Silver though hoping he didn’t dislodge her in anyway. ”Do you have any family? A mat-” He cut himself off as the last two words nearly flew from his mouth. No! He didn’t want to ask that. But something deep down had pushed him to ask. Hopefully, Silver wouldn’t pick up on it.

Please don't! He begged desperately.

RE: The first meeting - Silver - Jan 27, 2014

She listened with careful ears to every word he said. So, Rayne had a sister? Interesting. ”Do you have any family? A mat-” Silver barely picked up on the last two words. It sounded like Rayne meant to say mate but stopped himself. Smiling she cuddled in a flirting kind of way into his side. "No family, no mate either. I had one but he left me." As much as it hurt to walk about it the words slid out calm and collective. No trace of pain was in her words. Though had Rayne been looking close he would have saw the pain in her eyes.

"Now why would you ask about a mate?" Her voice was teasing and in no way did she mean to offend her friend. "Perhaps Rayne has a crush on me, but that's crazy talk." Why would he crush on her of all the wolves out there? Silver saw nothing special about herself. She was rather dull looking and didn't have an exciting life. Although Rayne on the other hand had stunning looks. Everything about him was like heaven so far. She could only hope he wouldn't notice her blushes around him.

Before she could stop herself the same question he asked tumbled out her her mouth. "Do you have a mate?" Her body was heated up with a blush. On her face was a bit of a shocked look. Had she really just asked herself that question? Silver could only pray he wouldn't think she was weird for the cuddling into him and the question about a mate.

RE: The first meeting - Rayne - Jan 27, 2014

The pain in her eyes were missed by Rayne as he shifted uncomfortably when she mentioned that she had no family or mate, the latter because the other had left her. The flush of embarrassment couldn’t be stopped as she teased him, not catching the flirtatious cuddle closer to his side. But Rayne was also a little more than shock when Silver asked him if he had a mate. ”N-no! I-I d-don’t h-have one! A-a m-mate I m-mean!” His stutter had come back in full force, as he tried to duck his head to hide his embarrassment but only succeeded in nearly striking his head against Silver’s as he swung his head around so his chin wouldn’t be digging into her side.

”Oh! I am so sorry!” He yelped before scrambling to his feet, trying to see if he had hurt her-his head was rather hard after all-only managing to hit his head as he forgot they were only in a small shelter without much room to wiggle in. Yelping again, Rayne crouched back down to the ground as along with trying to shake the headache feeling he had coming on. It was only then he remembered he had struck-or had he? He wasn’t sure-Silver and with wide eyes, he looked at her.

”You are not hurt are you?” He blurted out rapidly, trying to see if his head had struck hers and if she was hurt. He hated himself for ”Please, I did not mean to do that! I-I just...! I never expected that question!”

RE: The first meeting - Silver - Jan 28, 2014

( @Rayne )
Missing his swinging head Silver snaked out of the roots and into the snow laughing. He seemed shocked by her question. Dropping into a laying position in the snow she giggled again. "Calm down! I'm just fine." Smiling she wagged her tail softly.

With a large grin Silver returned to Rayne. "Looks like someone has a little crush." She cuddled into his side. Why else would he have acted such ways when she asked about a mate? Even if she was wrong it was an excuse for her to say she liked him in an awkward way, without saying she really having to say it. Sighing softly she glanced into his orange eyes quickly. "Maybe we should stray off the topic of mates and crushes. How about." Her voice trailed off for a few moments so she could think. Then it hit her. "Oh I got it! Where do you come from? I hail from Alaska." It was a simple question. She didn't wanna bug him out much like she had with the mate question.

Silver felt bad about it. It made her nervous to see him squirm the way he did. Though she couldn't do anything about it. He seemed to be un-confident around her, should he choose to follow her she would make sure to work on his confident. Not only would it help when they talked but it would help his ego. Rayne was full of potential, he just needed someone to help him get there.

RE: The first meeting - Rayne - Jan 28, 2014

The russeted male couldn’t believe the way he reacted to the question, especially when it was he who had started it with asking her. He shook himself, ears swinging towards her when he heard her giggle and told him she was fine. Rayne grumbled slightly, embarrassment still in his eyes as Silver peered back into the shelter, a large grin on her muzzle.

His tail thumped against the side as she crawled back in, her fur feeling a little cold before it was warmed by by his heat and making him glance over to her when she cuddled back to his side and teased him further about having a crush on her.

”Maybe I do, maybe I don’t.”” Rayne huffed quietly, before he hesitated. Should he tell Silver the truth? The answer had been a little ambiguous and he did like her. But he wanted to stay by her side until he was certain that they were there and was certain that Silver had similar feelings. Though her words could be her way of saying she liked him too, there was no reason to assume anything.

Then Silver’s light voice asked where he was from, telling him she was originally from Alaska. ”I come from a place further north, called the Valley by my pack.” He replied sad his eyes flickered over to the snow still flying around outside. ”It was a nice place, it had high mountain ranges on either side and plentiful forests. There wasn’t ever a time I remember where we went too long without food and neither could my parents.....” His voice faltered at the mention of his parents, trailing off as he recalled the look of loss on his mother’s face when his father died then when all of her children left her. Was she alright? Was she still alive or had the sickness he smelt on her when he left the last time taken her?

Something told him, when they were saying their goodbyes, that he should have stayed and waited by her side. Instead of venturing to find his sister. But the urge to see her again, to see Senka had overwritten his desire to stay and now, it was with regret that that Rayne hadn’t made the decision to stay.

Rayne also disliked how he was always so shy and nervous around new wolves, sometimes coming off as somewhat standoffish to newcomers who didn’t know any better. Because when he was leaving, two unfamiliar faces had joined his mother at the borders. He had no idea who they were yet they smelt familiar somehow but his insides quivered when they arrived, eyeing him warily. It had been then he bid his mother farewell and left.

During his thinking, Rayne was silent with a thoughtful gaze in his eyes.
