Deneb studied the other pale beast sidelong from goldenrod eyes, committing the names he spoke to his memory. Phineas Argyris and Borlla Tainn-Argyris, leaders of Magnolia Glen... who could say what the future had in store for them? For the present, though, they were to be his king and queen, so he would serve and serve them well as it suited him. He could play the role of a good pack member, to aim to get into the coterie at the heart of this pack when he needed to, but he'd tasted power before, and in truth he didn't know how long he would be content with bowing and deference.

But, first things first. Deneb didn't miss the disdain in Phineas's tones as the subject of conversation shifted back to Albireo. Although it irked the beast him how much Al had degraded the Cygni legacy, he could also see how it was useful that their alpha disliked his brother. Perhaps he could ingratiate himself to his lord and put his errant brother back in his place in one fell swoop.

Deneb ducked his head in understanding, uttering words as his posture fell still once more. "Farewell for now then, lord Phineas." A smile began to form upon his muzzle, slowly spreading across darkened lips, and the champagne man turned and wove away through the unfamiliar woodland. Soon enough, he promised himself, he would know this place well. Tipping his nose first up into the currents of air, then down to the cold earth, he began to seek his brother's spore upon the ground. It felt almost like an old ritual now, tracking after Al. But now, Deneb knew where to find his brother, and he finally had the footing he wanted to make his next move.
