RE: this land - Bane - Apr 17, 2014 [dohtml]
Her eyes lit up with an excitement, causing his own blood orange gaze to alight. If things went well (and hopefully they would as he saw no reason why they would not) this woman before him would become his pack mate. Although their introduction with one another had been rocky (as had it with Ashton, who he now favored) he liked her thus far. She was happy, friendly and excited for the new life that she would hopefully have within Secret Woodlands. Perhaps this is what the pack needed, perhaps this is what he needed. After all, Bane could not say that he was close to many within the ranks. Hell, he barely even knew any of them although he could hardly blame any of them for that. Kite had not questioned his hesitance at mentioning Nina's name ether and he was happy for that. He did not want to have to explain that he mistakenly called his Leader mother and the reason was because she was more a mother to him then his true mother had ever been. It would have opened up far too many questions which would leave directly to his origin. Something he definitely did not want more wolves finding out about. Of course, out of his knowledge she would now think that Bane was in fact, Nina's child. Something he would not have really mind anyhow. She mentioned Mirren once more and it really did seem like the pair had hit it off. He was jealous, in a way, having never really been close to anyone his age before. "Same here." He speaks about it being 'nice to meet her' as well and with it, dips his muzzle lightly as he greets himself. "I'm Bane Aranna." Every wolf had their own personality, and if Bane was a bit quieter than most, so be it. Kite was typically shy and quiet, but in her protective-mode forgot herself and came across the part of her that was naturally kind and caring. To Kite, Bane's life was his own. Either way, she felt a certain kind of happiness that he was making his own life for himself, that he identified himself as more than the Kite knew she would have to go back to Mirren soon. She had said she would return to him after scoping things out, and she had done just that... but the smell of food on the wind distracted her. Still, she... couldn't keep Mirren worrying. More likely than not he may be in a heavy sleep, but in the off chance he wasn't, Kite hardly wanted to frighten him. RE: this land - Bane - Apr 19, 2014 [dohtml]
Truth to be told, they were all Leader's children. Well, at least the most of them. Usually, it was only the Leading pair of wolves who were allowed to breed within packs and have children. Children which after some time depending on their own personalities, would branch off into the world and find their own partner and start the process over. At least, this is what he was taught. This was the rule of his pack. In fact, being a 'Leader's child' really meant little if everyone was. Really, Bane was the rare one here. Not only had he been born out of mate-ship, not of a Leader, but he had not been willed, ether. Though time had pushed away the thought of his father and what he had done into the back of his mind, still he would be left to wonder if he would become as mad as his father and mother before him. Yet again, weakly, does he smile to her. His nose twitched then, catching the scent of old food, very distant to him. He would take notice of Kite's own body language, thinking that she might have scented the food as well. Though he words spoke otherwise, or perhaps, she held no interest for the leftovers. "...Until then." Was his words of goodbye, keeping his placement within the orchard as he watched her go before he too would turn on his heel and head back for which he came. A small detour a bit northward towards the blackberry fields brought him a stronger scent of the food - pronghorn. He had never hunted such a thing, had yet to take part in herd hunts, though he knew exactly what it was. With hunger still lingering in him from the horrible winter passed, Bane took the time to settle and eat his fill. Not only would he be taking care of himself, but lighten the load as he lifted and carried off the remainder of deer back towards Secret Woodlands with ever intent to take it to his pregnant mother.
