RE: Out of my way - Angier - May 05, 2014

[dohtml]

Right from the start it was obvious the boy had the tact to use his manners and regard him as a superior. Angier smiled, nodding as the youth even mentioned that as he stood up straight that he meant no offense by his posture, only wishing for the Leader to see him as he truly was. The Lyall was impressed. It even made him marvel at the traits he could already pinpoint as "definitive Archer features." The bulk and full coat, specifically, were aesthetically pleasing, as well as the youth's size and physique. Considering his size compared to Asriel and Sköll, he also wondered just what kind of man Kiche actually was to produce such sons. Well, Asriel might have been quite the distinguished sort, obedient and ambitious, but there was something about Xetor that made Angier ponder about what he could be in the next twelve months or so. Maybe, just maybe, he could be comparable to his cousin here... Maybe.

Xetor proceeded to let the Ridge Leader know of his knowledge about herbs, and even a little bit about hunting. Angier nodded then, even after Xetor said that he would like to prove himself by seeking out the scent of deer on the breeze, shook his head. "That won't be necessary," he assured him. He took a moment to gaze back to where Sorya stood, patiently waiting for him to pass his judgement on the lad, "I trust that you'll be a fine addition to our ranks. The deer is plentiful within Willow Ridge though. We will, no doubt, see 'em again. For now what I'd prefer you to do is familiarize yerself with the pack lands, our stores of dried herbs has been lacking these past few months and I would like to see them filled before the cubs arrive."

He did not touch the newcomer as he had done with Sorya and instead, he pointed with his nose towards where his aunt stood at his back. "You will pull your own weight," he mentioned, turning to start walking back from where he had come from. "And you will give no reason for the princes, your cousins, to scorn you. If you have any problems, you come to me. I'll check back with you tomorrow evening to make sure that you're settling in okay." He stepped over to where Sorya remained, then with a dip of his muzzle, he left the duo to do as they pleased. It did not matter if he knew Sköll well enough to know that Elettra would not go hungry, but since he had picked up on the Archer's budding jealousy over the three Archer-Lyalls, Angier could not risk their comfort and care because of something their half-brother had not done in spite of them.

RE: Out of my way - Xetor - May 05, 2014

Pleased that the male thought well of him so far Xetor glowed under Angier's scrupulous gaze. Though he was glad the male dismissed his offer to hunt the deer herd. Xetor knew how to hunt rabbits and well, small things. He'd been on only one hunt in his life that involved a deer and mostly he ran alongside his older pack mates just watching the action from afar. Nobody would let him get close while at the age and size he had been at.

However the male moved away without marking him. It seemed like he was accepted, but Tor was a bit confused. Most packs marked their members prior to letting them into their lands. He wondered if this pack was maybe a bit different. I would think Auntie El would have the same rules as the empire but maybe not... He watched the male turn to look towards Sorya.

"I trust that you'll be a fine addition to our ranks. The deer is plentiful within Willow Ridge though. We will, no doubt, see 'em again. For now what I'd prefer you to do is familiarize yerself with the pack lands, our stores of dried herbs has been lacking these past few months and I would like to see them filled before the cubs arrive." the lead males words brought up a question that Tor didn't think to ask yet. He nodded in understanding knowing that the man had given him permission to roam around the territory and get used to it. That has to mean he's accepted me. Tor thought with a giddy expression clouding his features.

You will pull your own weight, he says... Yes I know, every wolf must do work within the pack, every wolf has a duty and a job to do. Just like in Torbine's packs. He thought quietly as Angier lectured him.

"And you will give no reason for the princes, your cousins, to scorn you. If you have any problems, you come to me. I'll check back with you tomorrow evening to make sure that you're settling in okay." These words that came from Angier's mouth made Tor pause in his thoughts. He didn't really have anything against his apparent cousins. there's more than one cousin? However Xetor certainly wasn't going to give them a reason to hate him. Maybe let them get annoyed by him from time to time but he would try to do anything to make them absolutely hate him.

"No sir they won't scorn me sir." He answered immediately almost like a robot as the gray man Angier took his leave.

Momentarily caught up in the giddiness of being accepted by the leader of a pack practically on his own I mean Sorya didn't do much really... Tor wagged his tail and sauntered over to his aunt before the thought struck him like a lightning bolt.

"Wait... He wants me to go get herbs doesn't he?" The question was asked mostly to himself butt partially to Sorya as well.

(OOC: I'll do one more post after Sorya then?)

RE: Out of my way - Sorya - May 05, 2014

Sorya sat there with observation as the man determined that the boy was fit enough for the pack, after all he was of royal decent, of Archer decent. Sorya expected nothing less as the man arrived. Scorn? Skoll wouldn't scorn Xetor if Sorya had anything to say about it. She watched as they ineracted and soon another Archer was officially allowed on the territory. The alpha left and Xetor posed a question that his Auntie Ria happened to overhear. "Yes Xetor, but he wants you to be comfortable here before you start. I suggest taking one border patrol and exploring the territory. The birthing den is off limits." She told him, careful about what she said.

"You have three cousins who are almost a year: Morganna, Asriel, and Skoll. You have more that were just born, hence why you are to stay clear of the birthing den." She informed him more as she beckoned him towards the territory. "I must finish my rounds, but you get comfortable and maybe we can meet up later and hunt or something?" She offered before taking off into the vast territory, rounding the borders and occasionally stopping to mark the scent.

RE: Out of my way - Xetor - May 05, 2014

Nodding as his aunt answered, Tor decided that he would indeed check out the rest of the borders before venturing any further in to this strange new territory.

He gave Sorya a farewell swish of his tail and flick of his ears before taking a look around and daring to step over that invisible line. Once over a certain calmness entered Xetor. Perhaps due to the fact that he knew he had someplace to go now. A place to sleep without being worried about someone finding him while he slept. His rust and black tail began to wag slowly as Xetor continued to pad inside and a long the border.

After a while he reached a boulder with a willow tree growing practically on top of it. The boulder was larger than he and the willows five large roots draped over the side of the boulder creating a little alcove of sorts. Tor decided to mark this for reference later. Maybe he would spend a night or two here before heading further into the territory to meet his new pack mates.

But first to check the rest of the borders. the dark male told himself quickly after nosing around the makeshift sleeping place. His dark paws then swept him around the large territory filled with willow trees. He imagined what it would look like in summer. The faint scent of deer roaming through the forest made his stomach rumble, but for now Xetor ignored the hunger knowing that a pack usually had the resources to feed working members.

Once he had looped around the territory Tor found himself back to the tree and boulder he had marked earlier. Tired but hungry, the young Archer decided to finally rest. When next morning comes I'll visit the inner areas of the territory. Maybe see if I can find a medicine den to see what stuff I know of that I can restock. Tor yawned loudly then lay himself into a tight ball ebneath the roots before blanking out into dreams.
