RE: i ponder of something great - Borlla - May 23, 2014 ahhh~ thank you all for posting. the next round will begin on the 30th. (Powerplaying Takis a bit, just so he's out here) [dohtml] The woman waited patiently, guarding the mouth of the den as her children emerged. Occasionally, she would cast a glance over her shoulder, ensuring no tumbles or missteps, but for the most part, she kept her eyes ahead, towards the danger. Any moment now, near-strangers would seep through the treeline, because she summoned them here. Borlla sighed and settled to her haunches just in time for K'arnae to appear. The female crawled close enough to give her respects and Borlla could not help but smile. The female seemed nice, and though the new mother felt her muscles seize beneath her skin, she made no move beside to disturb the woman. The next arrival was little more than stranger to Borlla, and she felt her hackles rise. The boy did not come close as K'arnae had, and Borlla found herself thankful as he settled down beside the other woman. They both seemed quite curious. Ace soon joined them as Celandine made her way into the light. The mother nosed her little girl to comfort her, then kept a very close eye upon her. Neoma broke the silence first, and while Borlla nodded a response, she said nothing else, but managed something of a smile. The woman, as far as her leader was aware, had done nothing wrong since they'd allowed her within the Glen, so Borlla had little reason to scowl at her now. The second yearling, and the other half to the pair that K'arnae must have spoken about some time ago, arrived, joining her partner. Evy was close behind her sister, though seemed less interested than her pale younger sister. In fact, she seemed far more interested in food, and Borlla chuckled as she shifted her sitting position to accommodate the eldest. When Zia arrived, Borlla grinned, not bothering to look at the rabbit dropped at her paws, but rather remained focused on her friend. She bowed her head, quite gratefully, and leaned forward carefully to move the rabbit to the side. After Deneb arrived, another stranger, but offering kind words nonetheless, Borlla cleared her throat slightly. "I would like to introduce you all to Evy, Celandine, and..." She paused, noticing that Takis had not toddled out yet, though as this crossed her mind, he appeared. "Takis." Stifling a grin, she said no more. She felt a mild sadness that Phineas had not arrived yet, but likely he was busy doing what she had been unable to do for the past few weeks. RE: i ponder of something great - Celandine - May 25, 2014 [dohtml] Taking a few unsteady steps towards their pack mates, Celandine found herself no more than a tail length away from her mother. The comforting scent allowed her interest to pique, knowing full well that she was safe. This left her to attend to the more important matter of gazing upon these strangers. A vast sea of blacks, and grays danced before her, their coats not yet distinguishable to the young Argyris. Bright eyes landed on one in particular, the one who crawled closest to her mother. In time she would come to know this fae as @Zia, but for now, she was simply another nameless face. Evy's whine forced her to turn back, seeking not shelter, but the attention of their mother. Sneaking back towards Borlla, Celandine halted at her forelegs, pressing her side into the white mass of fur. It was her mother too. A little disheartened at the end of her first adventure, a light mewl of exasperation coursed through the air. She still wanted to see them, but so long as Evy was begging for their mother's affections, she would have to wait. RE: i ponder of something great - Evy - May 27, 2014 [dohtml] [/dohtml] RE: i ponder of something great - Aponi - May 28, 2014 The silver princess could feel the wary gaze of her alpha upon her and dutifully dropped her own blue eyes towards her paws, not too concerned that she would be missing any 'special' moments with the cubs. After all they were just little fluff balls at this point in their lives, they couldn't and obviously weren't doing much besides crying for their mother, nothing Aponi could do about it. This whole motherhood thing looked like it was a lot of work, a huge sacrifice on the female alphas part to keep the pack bonded and instantly her respect for Borilla grew stronger. Her own mother had born litter after litter, physically caring for them yes, but emotionally crippling them with her deliberate distance, the ivory Queen seemed to genuinely care for the annoying crying fur balls that hovered around her ankles. As the names were announced Aponi briefly raised her gaze once more to look at the pups, sure they were different colours but they all looked the same to the yearling, there was no way she would be able to keep them straight. Bowing her head once more she spoke, careful to keep her tone in check and not to speak loudly enough to startle the young ones, "You have brought a beautiful litter into the world, may they have nothing but peace and happiness." This was the first time she had spoken in front of her new queen and Aponi knew how important first impressions could be, she had seen her mother chase off wolves just for their appearance when first sighted after all. The words might have tasted strange on her tongue at one point in her life but she came to realize she had no reason to disrespect either alpha and was rather grateful of them for taking her and Mercy in, they truly were her king and queen. RE: i ponder of something great - Takis - May 31, 2014 [dohtml] [/dohtml] RE: i ponder of something great - Phineas - May 31, 2014 [doHTML] [/doHTML] RE: i ponder of something great - Borlla - May 31, 2014 :D Thank you all for participating~ Feel free to exit/fade as you would, so points may be claimed. [dohtml] The female yearling finally spoke up, her words kind and strong, and Borlla could appreciate her courage. Celandine had since returned to her side. Borlla cracked something of an amused smile, wishing that the girls might be a bit more curious in their packmates, but she wouldn't force them. In the coming days and weeks, and so on, they would find their own feet and likely stick their noses where Borlla wished they wouldn't. So, for the time being, the mother thought that she might just be thankful for their cautiousness. Of course, the moment this crossed her mind, a little fight broke out around her paws. Her son arrived just in time to join the scuffle, as it were, teaming up with Celandine to tease their eldest sister. Her eyes lifted from the children, causing a ruckus amongst themselves, to see Phineas approaching. She breathed a quiet sigh of relief. "You're here now. That's all that matters." The woman smiled, tail wagging at her back. "They are far more interested in chew on each other than on their packmates." Pursing her lips, the mother rose to her paws and stepped around her children, no longer willing to be the rink for their wrestling. Despite her earlier qualms about them not being as curious as she might've liked, Borlla thought that she might be somewhat thankful, especially with her fears about not being so familiar with her packmates. But everyone seemed on their best behavior, so what could she say? Borlla was simply glad that everyone was together... RE: i ponder of something great - Mercy - Jun 02, 2014 [dohtml] They were adorable. Three small balls of fluff, who could hardly move much at all, but were working on their way toward becoming more mobile. He couldn't believe how tiny they were, and with his attention fixated on them, he almost didn't notice Aponi when she joined the group. His nose twitched, and he caught her scent before he even turned his head to see her close by, and he gave her a warm, soft smile. Though it wasn't something he'd ever thought about much before, seeing these pups made him want to have some of his own. Bashfully, too, he found himself wondering what it would be like to have pups with Aponi; they would need to have heirs to the mountain, after all. Littlefolk like these that would one day become big and strong, to rule once he and Aponi had retired to a more quiet life.
MAGNOLIA Glen RE: i ponder of something great - Deneb - Jun 08, 2014 [dohtml] He knew he ought to be getting to know these wolves around him, if only to get a better idea of the playing field here, to ingratiate himself to them and learn about them. And yet, Den found himself wishing to be gone from here rather than sticking around and socializing. Any joy he might have felt at seeing the next generation of this pack was impossible to dig up, buried away somewhere he couldn't find anymore. His thoughts, as per usual, were on his brother. He nodded along silently as Borlla introduced each of her children by name. They were virtually indistinguishable right now, all smelling like one another, basically interchangeable to him except for the one with the pelt that didn't match. Shifting slightly, he closed his eyes, listening but not really listening as the rest of the pack offered their congratulations to the new mother and father. Some day when the pups were older, he would probably seek to get to know them, too, but for now they only reminded him of what he had had and lost. As the moments ticked by, he counted them, and eventually when he thought enough had gone by he stood and nodded dutifully toward the alphas. Then he turned and was off, walking with his habitual rolling gait. He would return to the borders and hunt... perhaps he'd even find Al and get him to join him, though his brother probably wouldn't be too keen on the idea. {exit} RE: i ponder of something great - Evy - Jun 08, 2014 [dohtml] [/dohtml] |
