The Awakening - Kauda - Mar 13, 2011 [dohtml] solid; border-bottom:1px #000000 solid">

Kauda let out a snarl, wrinkles appearing on her muzzle as she growled. She threw herself at another hare that was trying to escape. The threw his back legs out, giving Kauda a perfect chance to snap at it. Without hesitation, she threw her blood - stained jaws out to grab the legs, but they hit the ground as fast as they had elevated and her teeth snapped in the air. Her deep, concentrated blue eyes narrowed as she watched the last of the snowshoes disappear just as quickly as Kauda had came upon them. |
So the pair ate in relative silence, content in each other's company. Marsh thought nothing of her 'savage' manner of consumption, for all he saw was a hungry wolf filling her belly; table manners had never been a concept that Marsh would care about. It wasn't long before his muzzle bore the stain of rabbit blood, though it was easily taken care of with a few swipes of his tongue. His empty belly easily had room for the two hares and more, though it satisfied any immediate need. His next few days would not be desperate ones.
Crunching on the hind legs of his second hare, Marsh eyed the younger girl, idly curious as to her next step. They had made a fair successful pair, that was certain, and she had taken beautifully to verbal silence. Her company was pleasant indeed.
OOC: I'm going to wrap this up. :) Thanks for posting! If you ever want another I'd be happy! They make a good team. ;)
Kauda finished her meal silently. That's pretty much all their partnership had been - silence. They ate in silence, they had hunted in silence, Kauda was led to her prey in silence, they had greeted in silence. Honestly, Kauda admired the male for it. She didn't need to know his name to know that she enjoyed his silent company.
Her eyes flitted over to watch him devour his second snowshoe just after she finished her first. The ebony she - wolf carefully set the hide of her hare - which she carefully ate around for no particular reason - beside her and grabbed one of the bones of the hare. Carefully, she gnawed on it and a sort of comfort entered her. It was nice to sit in silence and just feast and chew on bones - something Kauda got to do how often?
Silently, Kauda stood. She nodded her head to the male. "Thank you." she spoke quietly, one of the only words spoken in their whole partnership. Kauda grabbed the bones from her catch and turned to disappear into the forest. She wouldn't forget the help of the male, the stranger who had not known her at all. She was thankful.
