@Iopah [dohtml]

ooc:Neither of us was sure what to say xD

A simple understanding, a mutual feeling seemed to change the dynamic between them. He didn't feel as scrutinized beneath her own golden gaze. The Lyall was struck by how fierce the woman in front of him must be. There was no doubting her own distaste for his information. How unlikely he was to challenge her for a meal now. What world had shaped her that way? Like the many others he met, he doubted to know much more. If he would see her again, if there was reason.

She appeared bemused by his mention of the Ridge and Woodlands alliance. Despite his sudden feeling to sheepishly smile in turn, he did not. He held himself firm, even if she made him feel like a pup the pride in him did not loosen. Least he had not tried to use it to persuade her out of her prize feast.

The tone of her voice, sharply titled his ears in a jolt, drawn to her while his dark yellow eyes carefully held upon her pale mask. Instantly the rogue scowled, almost in disbelief. Why would someone choose such proximity to another pack? Especially, if they were not an ally? Io did not seem the dramatic actress and ascended silver tongue, so he could not doubt. "Sounds like they are asking for trouble," he murmured, giving a shake of his head. He wondered what kept the packs from battling. He did not know Iopah's place nor their leader. Initially, that was the problem with re-establishing the Hollow. He didn't think the River wolves would approve of the lack of distance.  Especially because he didn't either.

If reading his thoughts she asked the very question he had often thought. Pale brows rose ever slightly, feeling exposed. Not certain he wanted to say anything else aloud. Would there be such a way? Was it the only way? "Last I knew they were a pack of five. I think they are more unified than most, so I can't be sure what it would take." He honestly answered.

@Renier thanks for the thread![dohtml]

He did not shrink away from this conversation. A boy that had once shied from a rabbit willing took in her offered hatred now. He rose to the conversation, giving as good as was received. "They've already found trouble.", she returned with. Her low-rumbled reply and slow, acknowledging blink left no confusion as to what face their trouble had taken. Sooner or later it would come to blows between them. Her animosity had been smoldering inside, none of the others shared her vehemence, and she relaxed further in the freedom to speak as she wanted of them.

The question was posed to the air, ears flicking lightly to ensure another had not crept up to overhear. She followed his minute reactions, assumptions jumping between shock and intrigue. Pale gray ears retreated mildly in case it was the former. For a second she thought he might not answer, then the disclosure was spilling as readily from his lips as hers had earlier. It was a start, it was information, but it wasn't much more than that.

A silence fell then, and Iopah wasn't sure how to progress whatever they were discussing. She turned to look over her shoulder. The light was stronger, a complete brightness now rather than thin wavering rays. Soon, they would all be up... and hungry. Iopah shifted, realizing time was running short. "Not many here feel the same way," She had to admit. Her position, respected as it might be, was not enough to sway Nina, though Koda knew of her territorial nature. "but if a fight broke out, I wouldn't ignore you." It was honest enough and Iopah felt it was leading enough. Renier would either catch the implication or not. There was nothing else either could say now, everything was laid on the table and either party could take what they wanted.

Her gaze fell to her small collection, mind filled newly gained information. A pale fore leg, previously angled over the pile as if to guard, withdrew. She gave him a pointed look, remembering the last time she had done this for him. "I would be gone before they arrive." The suggestion made little sense till her muzzle lifted and called for her packmates. Her invitation rang out evenly, no trace of vehemence in it's tone now. Iopah expected Renier, and his small, offered meal, to be gone when her gaze fell again.

OOC:<3 Thanks for the thread! I enjoyed to finish one with you. I <3 Iopah and hope they see each other in the future.

It sounded if it would be only a matter of time, least if it was up to Iopah. He assumed others did not feel the same or a war would have been happening now. Perhaps her leaders did not feel the same, or at least enough to bother. Strange. Home should be the most sacred to a wolf, it was everything. Did he detect the Barberi planned to take matters upon herself? Ren didn't know, but figured whatever her decision she was wise enough to stand by it.

This was not a conversation to be continued. There was still too little known, much more to be decided. Noting the often turn of her ears, he wondered if she was expecting company soon. The morning become more evident, likely she would not be alone. Openly, she made it clear the other Woodlands wolves felt different. The very wisp of a promise to have her help... Pensive, he nodded. "You remember the same," he offered in turn, feeling she would understand he was willing to do the same should it come to that.

Serious stare pinning him where he sat, he realized she was offering him one more thing as she had in the past. A rabbit. It was with a grateful smile, he grabbed only one, and made way to escape the thicket before the rest of her pack arrived.
