RE: Did I scare you? - Charcoal - Dec 03, 2014 Ditto Charcoal inclined his head in acknowledgement, temporarily pushing the other thoughts from his mind as the stranger slowly disappeared from sight. He turned his head toward the north, his gaze seemed to pierce through the misty darkness. With a subtle nod, he slowly heaved himself off the ground, shaking the moss from his pelt and setting off a leisurely trot, eventually picking up speed until the wolf was a blur of movement weaving stealthily through the trees. He quickly reviewed his plan, head whipping from side to side as he gave the trees a quick sniff, searching for scent markers. At even the slightest whiff of another wolf he abruptly changed direction, occasionally pausing to make sure he was roughly heading in the same direction. Charcoal had virtually no sense of direction and was prone to running in circles when not paying full attention. Endless. Circles. Charcoal slammed on the brakes when he realized he had passed that same boulder not even a minute ago. He lifted his chin and closed his eyes, inhaling deeply. With a start he padded in place then took off in a random direction when the scent of another wolf wafted into his nose, much stronger than before. Focus. He hissed to himself. This is why we can't have nice things. Charcoal shook his head and picked up the pace for a few minutes until he was certain he had left the scent marker far behind. He slowed to a steady pace, panting softly as the trees began to thin and the ground bent under his paws. Whisper Marsh. |
