RE: stranger things have happened here - Celandine - Apr 29, 2015 [dohtml] My apologies guys! I definitely read it all wrong somehow, and thought I was supposed to post next e.e
Offering a nod in acknowledgement of his thanks, the youth cast another glance Sceral's way. "Celandine Argyris. I'm Hypatia's sister." Introducing herself as an extension to one of her siblings felt all wrong on the girl's tongue. Resisting the urge to spit, as if the words actually had a taste to them, she resolved to never do such a thing again. A queen would not introduce themselves as such, and so she mustn't either.
Finding herself unwilling to delve any deeper into his search, the waited in silence. Seconds passed like hours, as she felt an awkward tension growing. Celandine couldn't help but wonder how long it would be before they decided she wasn't coming. Would she have to send the honey-colored male away, or allow him to wait at their borders like some sort of scavenger planning it's next meal?
When Hypatia's familiar paw steps began to appear, the Argyris girl felt relief. The tension seemed to disappear, taking with it any worries she might have had. Her tawny sister's reaction to the male did not surprise Celandine. Oak Tree Bend had a less than savory history with the Plateau, and she knew her father would not be too keen on finding the scent when he made his rounds of the borders. Only moment's later, she became aware of another familiar gait, headed strait toward them. The youth knew she was in trouble. Phineas should have been notified immediately, and she had failed to carry out her duties. Bowing her head in shame as he approached, Celandine knew sucking up would do her little good. "Do the Plateau wolves come down and prance around your borders often?" Oh no, he was in a mood. [/dohtml]RE: stranger things have happened here - Serach - May 09, 2015 Thanks for everybody's patience! So to clarify, maybe the new posting order is: Serach, Hypatia, Phineas, Celandine?

Why there was some satisfaction in his tense reaction, she did not revel in it. She only wanted him to heed her warning and leave. There was no reason for him to be here. It seemed there was, least in his mind. For as he explained, confirming her suspicion, one word was all it took. Missing. Hyp lost all hold of her act. Her heart suddenly dropped, and her face contorted with disbelief, and perhaps pain and remorse. It didn't seem like Sceral was the sort to leave the family he had, his brother. Had winter done something to him? For she could only picture a miserable Sceral, lost in white. She wished she could give this yearling the answer he needed. Twisted ears caught the coming of Phineas, and Hyp collected her expression once the white leader stood at her side, speaking his displeasure. There was no threat in her posture, she agreed with her father to a point. For some reason she didn't think Serach would simply run despite the intimidating stature of her father. After all Sceral had not, and he hadn't done anything but howl, politely waiting. The young man stood his ground, plainly speaking of his cause. The eldest Argyris rendered herself numb, and gently met the outsider's eyes. "I'm sorry Serach, I do not know where he is nor have I seen him since we departed the Glen." Solemnly dropped her eyes, not wishing to see his reaction to these truthful words. She only hoped he left, and Phineas let him. RE: stranger things have happened here - Phineas - Jul 09, 2015 [dohtml] [/dohtml] RE: stranger things have happened here - Serach - Aug 13, 2015 Going to be wrapping this up and send poor Serach home.
The boy's heart was pounding in his chest. His whole body felt hyperaware, with all of his senses on high alert. For the first time in his life, the young wolf felt truly in danger. He had remained determined in his task to figure out where his younger sibling had disappeared to, and he had brazenly ignored the warnings that the Plateau wolves had all given him. His stare was focused on Hypatia, both because it was she alone who could answer his question and because he was too frightened to look elsewhere. Hypatia had reacted at the news, and the Oak Tree Bend yearling felt an instant connection to her, if only because it was proof that he was not the only one who felt something knowing that Sceral was gone. As much as it pained him to admit it, it was more of a reaction than many, even in the Bend, had given when Serach had sounded the alarm. Hypatia's answer hit him harder than her reaction, and the boy found himself slowly exhaling. He had been holding his breath without realizing it. No. Dropping his head into the crook of his foreleg, he hid his gaze from the Plateau wolves. It was another nail in the coffin, and the boy's heart was breaking. She had been his last hope, and those hopes had been thoroughly dashed. Slowly, the youth lifted his head, his whole body shaking and his breathing ragged. "T-t--t-thank you," he sputtered, trying to keep his voice from breaking with grief. He had heard Phineas' offer, but he knew that the visit from Hypatia would never come. Sceral had gone, permanently. And as much as he wanted to break down then and there, this was not his place to grieve. Dipping his head in a silent farewell, the Bend yearling turned tail and jogged away. |
