RE: if that mocking bird don't sing - Gent - Jun 23, 2015 [dohtml] 'Cute' hadn't ever really been a part of his vocabulary before. Gent remembered, in fact, when the adoptive pack that had taken him in as an orphan had turned out children, that he hadn't much liked them. They were always in the way, defenseless, pitiful; they couldn't even make good conversation and certainly weren't viable sparring partners. However now, that dependency was perhaps what caused them to latch so deeply into his heart. And the fact that they were, yes he would even say it aloud, indeed very 'cute'. Ari in particular, as she tried to make a cradle of his mammoth black paw, and then toddled forward sleepily, was nothing but adorable. Watching his little girl attempt to forge on through the sleep in her eyes filled his heart with an adoring warmth and he lost his vigilance to the dreamy world that radiated from her. The position he was in at this very moment, not just her guardian but her father, was nothing short of blissful and it seemed, for mere moments, that nothing in the world could go wrong. Ever so gently, the man picked her up, cradling her chubby midsection between his jaws. With an easy and smooth gait that wouldn't jar her too much, he set off in the direction of the den, where he would lay her to rest with her siblings. Hopefully, @Minka would return shortly, and he could share with her the story of what had transpired, of how wonderful her daughter was, and how thankful he was that she had brought them into the world. |
