RE: but to be in the grave so long, poor boy. - Felix - Apr 25, 2017

[dohtml]

A shiver rolled down his spine, but Felix was pretty certain it had nothing to do with the chill or the heavy snow threatening to bury the wolves of Grizzly Hollow where they sat. He’d done nothing wrong. Goodness, he’d discussed the prospect of a journey away from his natal territory with his father at length before making more solid plans, but still, the young Macieo felt as though he was being scolding. He felt embarrassed for Pip, his friend, and for Oula, his mother. Why was his father being like this? Why was Ophelia being like that?

Well, because that’s just how Opie was sometimes, but still.

As far as the coming yearling was concerned, he couldn’t get out of the meeting fast enough. No punishments leveled at him – heck, Rook hadn’t even noticed him – but the collective shame and hurt and unhappiness was almost too much to bear. With hunched shoulders, the youth leaned up, offering Oula one more kiss on her cheek before turning to depart like the others. His tail was tucked between his legs as he broke away; he did not want company. He wanted only silence, and his thoughts. He was leaving soon! This surely wouldn’t be solved by then, but… Well, Felix had to make his own peace before he left Grizzly Hollow.

He wanted a reason to come back.

Exit.

Paging @Rook @Nineva @Amaryllis @Oula for your exit posts, please!

RE: but to be in the grave so long, poor boy. - Oula - May 10, 2017

Oula tossed a barely concealed, sour look in Nineva's direction. She wished that the female that'd usurped her would be leaving too, but it seemed that only Ophelia was going with her father. She was not looking forward to Nineva lording around like the righteous defender she thought she was. She didn't know what the younger woman was planning, and did not intend to let whatever those plans were come to fruition. But perhaps it was better that she was not accompanying Veho; there would be less time for her to try to work into his favor or kiss his ass or whatever it was she was playing at. It was there she decided that even if Nineva had earned her place, she would not skulk below her in the shadows like vermin.

The meeting concluded, the pack began to filter away. Pip zipped off in a flash, before Oula could even think to say a word to her. She would have to seek out the girl later. Oula nudged Ophelia back, and placed a kiss to Felix's ear. Oula acknowledged Veho with a brief look, meeting his eyes momentarily in a steady gaze that might have been a challenge except for how fleeting it was. He would not have to worry about her ruining his precious paradise in his absence. She stood, and slowly, leisurely walked off into the trees. This was her forest, her home, and she would not let herself crawl off with tail between her legs.
