He wasn't a large wolf but he wasn't small either so keeping a firm hold on the deer wasn't a difficult thing. At least not until the thing started to fight and then it did become difficult as he maneuvered his body to keep from getting injured. With Greer working at the back of their prize it finally tired the deer out enough that it fell to the ground. The warrior didn't let go until the final breath left the creature. They had secured many meals for the pack.

Greer's voice brought his attention to the dark man, “Now we've just got to get it back to the pack,” he stated his gaze drifting to their prize. It wouldn't be easy dragging the carcass back to the heights but with both men working together he felt it would go much quicker. “Shall we get started?” He asked. They were losing the light and Pyriel felt it would be best to get it back before that happened.

Greer gave a sharp nod to his accomplice, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his usually stiff mouth. The Aurora wolves would not have to worry about going hungry this winter—not with the deer at their feet. Pyriel had proved to be a formidable hunting partner; he would be sure to seek out the dark-eyed agouti the next time he went out for a hunting trip.

Now came the difficult part. Taking down the deer was easy, especially with Pyriel at his side, but bringing it back to one of the caches… it was doable, but not an easy task. Greer nodded in response instead of answering verbally before dipping down to grab ahold of a leg, his knees bent and ready to pull once his partner mimicked his actions. The light was fading fast but Greer did not worry—he knew the mountain inside and out regardless of how much daylight was available. It would take some time to return to Aurora, but the shadow did not worry. The meal was worth it
