RE: love comes slow, and it goes so fast - Nori - May 16, 2024 Things were so different now with Jet, and all in a good way, it seemed. He’d become someone who was so much better than he had been, and she was… still stuck, wasn’t she? In many ways, she was still the exact same wolf she’d been three years ago when they’d first met. Life had left her little room to grow, having spent a good third of it recovering and not recalling anything about her past. It was hard, to stand there in front of him feeling like someone from the past talking to someone from the future. And even harder to hear that he’d become this way because of her, though some part of her warmed at the knowledge. He was quick to respond to her apology, and it made her relax a little. She didn’t want to dig the hole any deeper though, and instead just smiled a little in response. At least the misunderstanding had been cleared up, even if she had overstepped initially. Any man would be lucky to have you. Well, fuck, if that didn’t make her want to cry a little. Any man, but not this one. Not the one person she’d ever actually wanted in that way. It nearly felt like there was a chasm between them, even though the feelings she had were completely unchanged. “I’ll keep that in mind,” she said softly, voice just a touch strained. If she ever loved anyone else - if that were possible, one day, - maybe she actually would think about what Jet had said to her. He stopped her from leaving, and Nori couldn’t help but be grateful. She offered him a tentative smile in return, and took a deep breath. “Hate to break it to you, but it’s nothing too exciting,” she lamented, injecting dramatics into her words. A mischievous glint caught in her eye. “But if you insist, I’ll tell you.” Thank you for the wonderful thread! Faded <3
