RE: A New Dawn - Destin - Jan 23, 2013 Destin attempted to make himself look smaller instinctively as the white queen arrived to meet them. She looked at the duo questioningly, that much the male could tell. However she looked a little.. tense, perhaps? The brown male knew that leading a pack was bound to bring stress upon your shoulders, but there was some different kind of feeling in the air here that was not just because of the pups or any current members. He let Sibyl speak and instead remained silent, ears perked and golden eyes watching her. The female seemed so nervous about it all, and Destin could not blame her for that. An anxiety still rolled about in the pit of his stomach and his eyes darted nervously back and forth as they looked into the forest around them. The girl continued with her tale, speaking of the rabid creature they had encountered in the depths of the earth. She got the description right definitely, and it painted a picture in Destin's mind. He could almost see the fox right in front of him once more, with its slobbery mouth and wild, crazed look. Nothing could ever act like that and not have something wrong with it. Combined with the missing songs from earlier, he decided that something dangerous was lurking amongst the trunks of the trees. Terrible things were happening. A nod came from Destin, confirming her story and his agreement with the words she said. The puppies needed to be safe, he had not even met them yet and still felt some kind of attachment to them. "And the birds are gone, ma'am. I have not heard them since last night. It is..." he struggled for words to describe what the situation really was, "...Something is wrong, ma'am." he finally decided, his golden gaze looking up to meet her mismatched one. She would know what to do, right? She was the leader of Grizzly Hollow, and the McBain knew he could put all of his faith in her paws. RE: A New Dawn - Sibyl - Feb 14, 2013 [dohtml]
Sibyl's head bobbled in agreement to Destin's mention of the birds' silence. Her heart wrung with guilt at having introduced Destin into this entire catastrophe, her ears crumpling back against her head and her shoulders somewhat sloping. The shift from tension to solemnity in Jaysyek's pale visage was not missed on Sibyl, and she swallowed around a thick knot in her throat as she listened to her leader speak. First confusion, then a deeper rooted fear pulled at Sibyl's grey brow at the mention of someone stealing a cub. Instantly her mind flew to Calla and Taima; Taima with her seemingly insatiable wanderlust and Calla in her innocence. If there was a madness, it seemed to be further reaching than simple sickness. What sort of wolves would steal a pup from it's home was too disturbing for Sibyl to want to think about.
Sibyl's jaw dropped the slightest amount, a small gasp as Jaysyek mentioned the possibility of leaving the Hollow. She could hardly imagine leaving her home, but with crazed beasts and kidnappers roaming the land, maybe that was all there was left to do? They certainly couldn't risk losing the cubs to this, and what life was there to live when sick animals roamed boldly through their home?
Sibyl was feeling defeated, deflated, so tired from the day's events she felt about ready to collapse in a nervous heap, but Jaysyek's question pulled her flicking eyes back to the mismatched pair. "No, Ma'am. Not a scratch," She answered quickly, but as she traced over the recent events in her mind she realized she wasn't actually sure if the fox landed a strike on Destin. She had turned tail and ran as soon as the sputtering fox came scuffling towards them, and Destin had managed to knock the demon away somehow. She glanced sidelong at Destin, question in her eyes though she prayed her new friend hadn't been injured. RE: A New Dawn - Destin - Feb 17, 2013 Destin's heart was falling with every word Jaysyek spoke. She was talking about disease and stolen children and... leaving Relic Lore!? Now, Destin hadn't been here for very long and knew he was surely not as attached as the leaders who had to make this decision and Sibyl, but there was definitely some form of peacefulness here that he enjoyed (at least before this mad fox fiasco). He did not want to leave this territory, he already loved it so much and knew he would appreciate it even more by day. Only two days had been sent in these forests and before he had been planning to stay a lifetime! Glancing sideways at Sibyl he saw a similar shock resting on her features. Then his mind went back to the stolen pup. He had never heard of this pack before but he knew that if they had stolen a Grizzly Hollow pup he would never be able to forgive himself for not protecting it. The subordinate could already picture Jaysyek's panicked expression as they searched behind every tree and under every rock to reclaim her daughter and son before realizing that it was lost. His own heart went out to those whose offspring had been stolen away by evil forces and hoped to himself that, whoever it was, would be returned home safe and sound. The male was glad that his leader was so calm and level-headed even in this situation. If she had been pacing back and forth with worry he would become increasingly more nervous. But she was standing directly in front of them and speaking with the duo as if it was simply about the weather. Sibyl then answered the white lady's question first. Destin felt relief once Sibyl confirmed that she had not suffered any injuries. Once his friend fell silent, he continued. "No, ma'am, I was not scratched or bitten but I managed to land a hit on the fox before running out of the cave. And I don't know exactly where it was, but I know it was at the base of huge cliffs and there was forest moving out for miles around." Noticing Sibyl's expression and change in attitude. He pressed himself against her for her own support again, hoping it would be enough. RE: A New Dawn - Jaysyek - May 01, 2013 [dohtml]
