RE: Why? - Chulyin - Apr 01, 2014

Not wanting to spy, he averted his eyes as Karpos pulled his phone out. He flagged down the bartender for another drink, and it was in his grasp before the blond boy asked his question. Chulyin wasn't much of a life coach, certainly not trained in relationships either. The majority of his life had been spent alone. "Just keep doing what you've always done. You gotta be there for her, even if she doesn't want you there."

His breathing was uneven and his heart was racing. Aponi wasn't responding to him still. "Mercy, I don't know.... she won't answer my texts or calls. She hides whenever I'm around. She wants nothing to do to me and I'm trying...." He facedesked and hit his head on the bar counter and raised his head. "I gotta go. Someone has to tell Mapplethorpe." He said as he got up and started to put on his jacket.

Mercy couldn't tell which frightened him more- the idea of being a father, or the idea of Aponi getting an abortion. Chulyin, strangely enough, seemed to want to support Karpos who finally came to the conclusion that he needed to tell Mapplethorpe. As he got himself together, Mercy knew what he had to do now. He nodded quietly to both of them. "I'm gonna head out too. I'll catch you later, Karp," He said, giving the boy as sympathetic a look as he could muster before he walked hurriedly out of the bar, and once out of sight, pulled out his phone and began to text.

Chulyin cleared his throat as Karpos prattled on. Taking a swig of beer, he gave a slight nod when both of the boys' began to shuffle themselves together, preparing to leave. "'Ey, Karpos, if you need anything, let me know." Typically serious, Chulyin's voice was oddly sympathetic before he turned away, minding his own alone once more.
