RE: i ponder of something great - K'arnae - Jun 09, 2014 [dohtml]
K'arnae remained where she lay, watching the little ones with the utmost care, but would occasionally turn toward the newcommers as they approached. Introductions were not given, little more than an acknowledging glance as the moment was not for the adults, but for the young. She did smile however, when young Mercy came forward along with his young friend and settled beside her to greet the new life as well. There had been a time when they all were as small as the pups, and she wondered in her perpetual silence if the young ones thought on this at all. Surely, they would find this moment intriguing.
As others emerged from the reaches of the territory, the mountain wolf looked to each with a benign expression even as they neared the dame and her brood seemingly in comfort. Perhaps these few knew the madame and her mate for longer than the pale wolf and the young at her side. A rite which she assumed granted them their proximity. Regardless, she kept an eye on them as well even as she lowered her head to her paws to watch the pups in their brief explorations.
While others offered their kind words to the children, K'arnae had nothing but her smile to present. Her diligence for their care and that of their mother was known if only recently from a conversation days before. She wished for their growth, their strength and well being. All conveyed through the simple presentation of fish and other nourishment on the daily. Surely that was enough congratulations for the brood.
As the pups were introduced, she lingered just for a little while longer until the familiar pale hide and earthy musk of the sire came forward. To him, she smiled graciously though kept her head at its place upon the ground, only glancing up to rest respectfully to his cheek in acknowledgement until she felt the warmth of a light touch upon her own. Turning, she watched as her young ward and his companion withdrew from the engagement, as did the others that came to witness the young life. Eventually, the crowd grew smaller as the pups took more of an interest in feeding than they did their packmates. But it was of little bother. They were young and their days were few. In time, there would be moments for them to meet the whole and properly. But for now she let them be, rising to her paws and walking away with a smile toward her own den among the trees.

[/dohtml] RE: i ponder of something great - Phineas - Jun 30, 2014 [doHTML] [/doHTML] RE: i ponder of something great - Aponi - Jul 01, 2014 [dohtml] The male alpha appeared into the meeting offering apologies and explanation, Aponi kept her place daring only to cast a curious look upon the man when she thought he might not be looking. Having seen him only once before, the night Mercy and herself had met him at the borders and then she had been diligent to keep her icy eyes firmly planted on the ground. His coat was as pale as his mates and he held himself proudly in front of his subordinates, a sign of a good leader. The glance had been quick, only a moment had passed before the silver girl's eyes were once more upon the fur balls, her gaze on them not unpleasant but not interested either. Finally after what seemed like ages had passed wolves began to creep away, and Aponi found herself grateful that she had not been the first to take her leave. Nodding towards the alphas the yearling turned away so she might catch up to Mercy's side as they exited the meeting. The farther the walked the higher the girl's stomach rose, along with her ears, her muscles ached from holding such a unknown position for so long. Used to holding herself proudly the once princess still found submission unnatural and forced, and holding it for such a long time had caused stiffness to enter her young body. Doing her best to shake off the unpleasantness she rubbed her shoulder against her mate's as they headed back towards their den. RE: i ponder of something great - Takis - Jul 03, 2014 [dohtml] [/dohtml] RE: i ponder of something great - Ace - Jul 05, 2014 [dohtml] As Ace watched the three pups slowly tumble out into the open world, more of his pack mates appeared with the same fascinated and wondrous looks on their faces as he did. Yes, it was true, meeting the pups for the first time was exciting for both the young ones and the rest of the pack. The three of them were oh so very fluffy and cute with the way they waddled and approached the rest of their family. It was then that Phineas appeared with an apology and explanation for his lateness, and the Silver Male kept his eyes downcast respectfully. He knew that some parents became very protective of their young and took anything as a challenge, so he decided to make sure there was no reason for that happening. All he wanted to do was watch the pups take their first steps outside of the den, and now that he had, Ace felt like it was time to go. He didn't want to intrude on any personal family business that was sure to happen after everyone had left. Slowly, one by one, the rest of the pack took their leave with a bow or kind words, and after a few minutes Ace gazed at the pups once more before bowing himself and backing up until he was a good distance away and stood up, turning to pad off towards the den site. Even though he hadn't done much that morning, if anything at all, he wanted to think about what life would be like if it was him and someone he loved watching his own brood explore the outside world. Maybe one day it would happen.
