RE: Black Thorn Downs Pack Thread - Tokino - Dec 01, 2014 This doesn't have to be in a real thread I suppose. Lets give the pack thread some use instead. [dohtml]
Tokino steps just outside the den as he surveys the area. A light coating of fresh snow lay upon every dark leaf stripped branch and twig of the blackberry bushes. The ground too was covered by a few inches of sparkling white snow. Tracks from numerous small mammals scurrying underneath the barren bushes littered the otherwise pure white substance that coated Black Thorn Downs pack territory. Tokino's own large prints lay behind him; a trail that led all the way to the border where he had just come from.
The silver wolf was growing more and more worried about the other wolf packs that lay near his own. Whisper Caverns wasn't much of a problem now since they were so far away, but Secret woodlands was another story. They might have a neutral agreement where the packs boundaries were concerned, but it was a very fragile one. Even if things turned out fine throughout this winter, Tokino still wanted to pitch the idea to @Minka of moving the pack once spring came. He was sure it would be safer on or over the mountains. Much like where his old home used to rule encased by mountains on either side of them.
Minka you there? Tokino asks while sniffing around some wolf tracks that were encouragingly fresh. Her scent was all over the den area, but so was the rest of his packs smell. RE: Black Thorn Downs Pack Thread - Minka - Dec 02, 2014 [dohtml] She had finally gotten a moment to rest and her body had easily slid into unconscious. With the now arrived winter there was a never ending list of things for herself to do and she found herself sleeping less and less. A nearby voice pulled her back to reality and Minka squinted her eyes towards the mouth of the den in annoyance at being awoken. Realizing that it was her mate she calmed her temper and settled her cranium down upon her paws, lazily calling out, "Yes my dear, I'm in here." They hadn't had the chance to spend any true quality time together since before she had left, even longer than that really since there was always the children around. It startled the queen but she realized she couldn't remember the last time the pair just sat and talked about anything not pack or children related. A frown consumed the tawny maw and her tail settled behind her, had they really gone so long without a casual conversation? Chuffing quickly she called for him, they would fix that today that was sure... unless he had sought her out to speak to her about the pack or the children's trip. It worried Minka slightly, after all this was her first real mateship, was it always like this? Responsibility coming first and their relationship coming second? Suddenly her heart yearned for her mother, she would know the answer and for the first time in a long time the Lagina woman felt homesick for the stone plains of her birthpack. RE: Black Thorn Downs Pack Thread - Tokino - Dec 11, 2014 [dohtml]
There is stuff we have to talk about...but... Tokino fights with the urge to lay with Minka and enjoy the moment. He needed to talk to her about the idea of moving the pack. Perhaps there is an easier way of bringing the topic to light? He muses before sighing and allowing his body to slip behind Minka's and lay down. Warmth immediately spread between the pair of wolves as Tokino sighed in content. It felt good to simply enjoy the moment. Despite the thoughts that plagued the Lagina males mind.
Sooo.. How have things been? Do you like it here my dear? Tokino questions his mate lightly before leaning forward to nibble the fur just behind her left ear. It was rare to have a nice quiet moment with Minka. So Tokino decided to cherish it for as long as he could. RE: Black Thorn Downs Pack Thread - Noble - Jan 07, 2015 Backdated to 12/28[dohtml] It should have been a warning. To an older wolf, one wiser to mother nature, it would have been. But Noble was young and thought herself invincible. All through the night the clouds had been silently gathering. Overhead the dark billowing masses diffused the sun, leaving a wane light to break dawn in the blackberry canes. The dark clouds held snow and even now a few early flakes drifted about the land. A sparse warning for the storm coming. The warning was ignored, when Noble's head emerged from the den her eyes followed only the stray flakes as they circled, kicked up by the a light wind. Everyone was safely tucked away, snoring softly behind her. Boring. She wanted another adventure like she'd had with her mother and Kova. The wind blew sideways as she stepped from safety. Noble was well-fed and the cold did not penetrate near enough to alarm her. There was another gust and a subsequent flurry of snow swiftly dancing out of sight. The day seemed to promise something and without a single glance upwards Noble loped into the cold and overcast day. The girl had grown nearly into an adult, but still held a puppyish behavior as she spent the early morning romping through her parents land. Stuck her head into every crevice as the sky darkened. Thundered after every spooked animal as the stray flakes turned into light flurries. RE: Black Thorn Downs Pack Thread - Spirit of Wildwood - Jan 11, 2015 [dohtml] Look out! A blizzard is coming your way!The sky has been cloudy all day, the temperature has been dropping quickly, and now the winds are beginning to pick up. What began as just a few harmless snow flurries is quickly turning into an all-out blizzard. Quick! Seek out a safe shelter to ride out the storm. Be careful, though! Visibility is very low and it will be easy to get lost. [/dohtml]RE: Black Thorn Downs Pack Thread - Tokino - Jan 14, 2015 ^I suppose to the above Minka X Tokino posts we could assume they chatted about the idea of leaving while being lovey dovey^ [dohtml]
Dated January 18th to answer the BWP thingy
Tokino was not a happy camper. Winter storms had kept his pack around the den and within the confines of their territory for a few days. However both his daughter and son were no where to be seen. They hadn't come when called, and Tokino could do nothing but wait out the storm before heading out to look for them. Undoubtedly Minka was stressed as well, but instead of trying to console her Tokino left the den as soon as possible to head out and looks for Kova and Noble. He hoped that they were together someplace out there, and that they knew enough to keep warm and stay safe. Trying not to worry himself too much, but still concerned for their well being, Tokino searched for a few days outside of the territory before heading back to the den. Now he had to rest himself and eat to replenish his stamina. Once he was back to 100% Tokino would head out again and search for the children.
As the male circled a few times in the den to set up a nice little nest, Tokino's ears were flattened almost submissively. He was scared not for himself, but for his pups. However if another wolf were to come in the den to see him Tokino would wipe the look of fright away and replace it with a stoic expression. He would never show his lack of faith to anyone. No, he would be strong for himself and his pack mates. RE: Black Thorn Downs Pack Thread - Noble - Jan 14, 2015 Oh, shoot! Erm, this post is backdated for 12/28 to go along with her other one... ------- The warnings continued unnoticed. She was the only wolf in sight, every other having sought shelter long ago. The burrows that she playfully shoved her head inside held animals so deep that she couldn't even hear the whisper of their breath. No matter, there was always another hole to inspect. And the lack of companions meant she could behave as childish as she wished. And the landscape was far from still or boring. A game of sorts had been created out of the coming storm. Noble stood motionless, held in place by the rules of her own invention. Even her tail was still, an admirable feat for her, the only part to move was her rolling eyes as she watched and waited. A few flakes fell here and there, but that wasn't what the dark girl wanted. There! Her head swung toward the low gust that sent a thick flurry of snow skittering across the ground. Noble dashed excitedly after it, snapping like it was a prey animal she could bring down. Almost in response to her attack, the gust swirled away and Noble was left waiting for the next one eagerly. An hour passed without her realizing how fast the flurries were coming on. Suddenly she realized the game had been carried too far. With her last lunge she landed in a world of white and the girl lifted her head as all frivolity fell away. The snow was thick around, obscuring her feet and the way back home. She whined and the sound was sucked up by snow that had become her enemy. No response. Noble barked loudly, only to have the plea muffled by the storm. Her hackles rose in fear and she started running. The storm was playing it's own game with her now. It turned the girl's path, steering her from home, and Noble ran headlong into the white. RE: Black Thorn Downs Pack Thread - Bane - Jan 24, 2015 He was gone. It had been far too long since Bane had caught sight or scent of @Kova, the one and only current son of Minka and Tokino. As a Guardian in the making (and Kova seeming to favor him enough to spend time following him about) Bane could not help but feel a certain guilt that he was to blame for this, having not watched him as closely as perhaps he should have. Though his time had been broken up between his required social self with the pack and his natural anti-social self. His social time then was further split between training to be a better fighter when the time came above, how to guard the borders and what to do about intruders, as well as caring for the pups of the pack. The back of his throat feels knotted as once more he enters the pack den (which he rarely slept in) in order to check up to see if perhaps Kova had returned to it.... no. Bane could only hope that Kova had grown interest with one of the other pack members and had decided to keep close to them, making himself scarce or that, wherever he was, despite his age and the freezing winter, he was alright... |
