fables - Triell - May 01, 2011

[dohtml]Triell never figured Indru would keep him high in the ranks if he didn't

earn it. In their up bringing he'd always been fair about things. Right in

that moment Triell greatly wanted it. Wanted to prove himself worthy of

the rank, for just being thought of. It made sense, why Indru would want

him as second when the time came. Triell had not met a male he trusted

that was not family, Marsh might be the exception because he wasn't a

relative. He too really was apart of the tight nit group of Swift River. His

little smirk perked up his cheek. His quiet reply, of his own happiness. He was eager for the day to come, and

yet did not want it to hurry to fast. He had his whole life ahead of him to

be wishing the best years of his life away.

Teeth met his mark, and he lived in the thrill of the moment he had caught Indru by surprise. Of coarse he did not hold hard or long, this was play. There was a satisfaction in getting to this point, and not because Indru had let him like he might have done in past events. Releasing he pushed himself away waiting for a counter attack. Indru had dropped egging him to bring it on. A boyish smirk, a soft snort vibrated his leathery nostrils. "Okay, you asked for it," sounding cocky, but not feeling overly confident. Lips curled around his teeth, deciding to put his grr face on. He dropped onto his belly, and in a flash sprung for Indru's snout. He doubted he'd much get it, but it was the open target.

"decided to put his grr face on" <- genius. XD

The years a wolf spent as a Yearling were some of the most important and Indru could remember them as clear as if they were yesterday even though so much of his life had changed since. It felt strange to think of how far he had come, from a pup and then a yearling in the Hidden Tree ranks under the watchful eye of his father, at the time being a Leader of the pack had been a pipe dream, he couldn't ever imagine his father and mother not leading them, but now he had taken up the role of being the families patriarch. As a Yearling most of the time was spent learning, rapidly learning to prepare for either fully integrating yourself into the pack's ranks or dispersing to try life elsewhere. Most of the year was spent taking on high energy tasks that were invaluable in later life, such as being sent out to chose the prey the pack hunted or being left in charge of the pack's youth, at the time it may seem like a drag but Indru could see now how these seemingly small, menial tasks built the foundations of his knowledge. Now it was his duty to make sure that his brothers and sisters were raised correctly, with all the knowledge that he could give them, and the prospect was daunting.

Indru's head titled slightly with a coy smirk at his brother's words, hoping that the confident face was just a cover up like he suspected, going in a fight thinking you'd win was a sure fire way to guarantee your loss. Quickly Triell adopted a few tactics from before, allowing his lips to curl in an attempt a threat and dropping down his height to make his defence stronger, but Indru saw his muscles bunch and the leap towards his nose (a small target that would be easy to hit at such a far range) and swerved to the right of him, ending up shoulder to shoulder with his black brother. With a quick low growl from his chest he quickly shifted his weight onto his right paw before forcefully shoving himself to the left and towards the young male hoping to knock him off balance. Light on his feet Indru then darted forward a spun, his tail waving in their game, to drop down again and inquire curiously at his brother, is that all you got?

figured it was appropriate 8)

The boy really didn't think he'd best Indru. He was a leader of a pack for several reasons, not just because of lineage. He had more years of experience on him, and unlike Indru Triell didn't have a littermate to pratice with. Kinis was not here, and Borlla he had yet to entice her. Indru played the role well, and maybe some other members one day would join in. Did Cori spar? Maybe, he didn't quite see Ozera attacking him. Surely she must know some skill, or defending. A question stored in his head to ask her about it. He knew where she'd come from hadn't been a nice place. If only Ruiko was here to join in. He tried not to think about that. He would see him again. Maybe they could play like this. Maybe.

Hit came into the firm contact with his brother's large shoulder. Triell not even close to out weighing Indru felt the blow of the impact. He'd figured something like this would happen, but it still hurt his shoulder blade. All for what? Nothing, Indru hardly moved instead he pushed back. Triell was ready for that, and did his best to hold his own. He managed for a couple of seconds, and than was forced to jump so not to fall on his face. He didn't really jump, he fell ungracefully to the ground in a black heap. A playful ruff echoed from his lips in reply. He layed there on his chin, letting some air return to his lungs. Quickly without warning he leaped, trying to grab anything Indy.

Thinking we could end this soon/with this round maybe? I'm just aware on how outdated the thread is now. XD Another more up to date one soon. :3

He watched Triell struggle with his balance, the after effect of his quick shove to the younger boy's shoulder, before he gave and and toppled to the ground in a bundle. Concern caused Indru's brow to frown quickly when he saw his brother fall quite as hard as he did but the playful bark that he heard soon after settled his worries and a toothy grin broke his muzzle once more. Of course, his brother was almost fully grown now and most certainly made of sterner stuff, but Indru couldn't help but fuss and worry like any father would over any of the Tainn siblings. Triell didn't jump to his feet straight away, instead lying down flat with his black muzzle resting on the floor and concerned again Indru took a step forward, head still bowed but this time to try and catch the yellow eyes of his brother and look for signs of pain.

Though, quick enough that Indru almost suspected it was a sly, clever ruse, Triell was up and seemingly fine for the fall and was already engaging in his first attack. Too close now to dodge his brother complete Indru leapt forward himself, hoping that the unexpected move would catch him off guard and deflect the attack but he still felt the graze of Triell's teeth along his shoulder as his attack hit it's mark and Indru used the position his counter attack had given him to glide down his brother's side to dodge the worst of the effects. With a laugh Indru continued to bound away, no severe damage done to his shoulder other than some broken skin, before pausing to glance back over his shoulder. We better go look for the others, the newly appointed Leader decided, first thoughts falling to Borlla who he had yet to break the news too. Before they wonder where we've gone. Are you coming? An inviting smile was on his face, relieved now that he knew at least one member of the family understood and did not hate him like he had worried, as he waited for Triell's answer.

fables - Triell - May 08, 2011

:) works for me

The lad hadn't counted on Indru worrying about him. It wasn't he didn't know Indru worried about him, he just hadn't thought Indru would see if he was okay. None the less it did give him that little advantage he needed, and he grabbed flesh. It was a harder bite than he'd meant, since he'd expected to grab air, his release was quick not to cause too much harm. Indru naturually ready skimmed his side away from any more chances of grip. A content chuckle boomed from his own lips, a wide grin proving he was more than proud of himself. Standing up, he shook out his pelt and his face became still. His topaz eyes looked over the flesh of his brother, making sure he hadn't ripped him to much. He seemed alright, and Triell adorned the cream chin with a few affectionate licks. He had missed messing around with Indy, very much. It made things seem much better, made him happy. Of coarse he felt they needed to find Borlla as well. She would surely take the news the hardest.

A nod of his head, he sauntered over to Indru's side. He met his brother's eyes. "Ready when you are." He wouldn't want to tell Borlla alone either. She probably had heard Ruiko's howl too, but Triell was a little worried she might take off again. It was never certain how things would affect her, and though they might not get along the greatest he didn't want to see her leaving again.
