RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Tagg - Jan 23, 2017 [dohtml] ----------------------------------------------------------- Weather: Partly cloudy, -11F/-24C Word Count: 242 Tagg trotted back to the den area after a mildly successful hunt, still reeling over the week he’d had. Things had gone better than he ever could have dreamed. He still felt lighter than air, like if he didn’t pay attention to where his paws were he might just float away. Flopping down outside the pack den, the scarred man began cleaning clumps of snow and ice from between his toes. This was his least favorite part about winter; he had to use his front teeth to pinch the balls of invasive frozen water and tug them out of his fur. He winced as the hair was tugged on, but the sensitive areas complained more about the cold than then momentary pain of cleaning them. Having the cold removed was an instant relief. Tagg looked around, wondering what the rest of his packmates were doing today. He thought of Moon and considered going to find her, but he was sure whatever she was up to was important and his presence might just distract her. They had a habit of getting silly when it was just the two of them. He smiled as he thought of their conversation at the hot springs. He really ought to thank @Kajika for the advice he’d given; if he hadn’t offered it, the veteran might never have found the stomach to talk to his dark lady. Still, he could enjoy the afternoon and the opportunity to nap. "Speech" Thought RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Moonshadow - Jan 23, 2017 [dohtml] OOC! @Tagg Boo! The day was pleasant, temperatures were starting to climb in anticipation of spring. The sky was partly cloudy, while she couldn't complain the ebony beta would much prefer sunny but she'll take what she can get. She moved easily over the mountain terrain as she walked along the borders. Since Namid had reclaimed her thrown Moonshadow had cut back a tad on her duties. She had been over compensating for the lack of interaction with the pack. So now she did one maybe two passes of the borders along with a hunt or two if she could get that lucky. Today was no different as she easily did a hunt earlier and now was finishing up her patrol. Ever since Taggs confession that he loved her shes felt light and the butterflies would not disappear. She found her self smiling and thinking of him more than anything and that was alright with her. She loved him and welcomed the feelings. As she made her way back towards the den after refreshing the last marker she thought about seeking the red veteran out. She didnt want to bother him since he could very well be busy. Eh - she didnt care she wanted to see him. So she put her nose to work and looked for his delectable scent. Having found it easily she followed it to the den. A smile crossed her maw as his familiar red coat came into view. She came up from behind him so he didnt see her. A mischievous smile spread across her maw as she was about to get payback for him pulling her into the hot spring. She lowered herself as she walked onto the top of the den. She readied herself before pouncing on him. "Boo!" She yapped happily as she landed giggles coming from her mouth. RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Tagg - Jan 23, 2017 [dohtml] ----------------------------------------------------------- Word Count: 226 Tagg was just starting to drift off when a familiar, warm scent wafted up his nose. He hummed quietly; he often dreamed that scent, and so it did not rouse him from his afternoon nap. He was harshly woken from his sleep by paws and a shouted “Boo!” The veteran tripped over himself trying to escape, his limbs flailing wildly as he gained his feet and danced away, hackles on end as he flipped around to engage the attacker. As soon as green eye met silver, his ferocity evaporated and he stood strait, ears flattening in shame as he dropped his body to the ground. “I’m sorry.” He whimpered, crawling towards her and offering kisses of apology to her jaw. “You startled me.” After a moment he allowed himself to stand and greet her properly, nuzzling his head under her chin. He was glad his first instinct had been to escape rather than attack. Guilt wracked his body. He hadn’t had a reaction that severe in quite a while – though to be fair, nobody had shouted ‘boo’ while pouncing on the sleeping veteran. “But if it’s play you want…” He growled before swiping forward with the intent of knocking her feet out from under her. He hoped she would not be angry about his momentary lapse of etiquette and would still be willing to play for a moment. Deciding the best way to try and keep his mind busy hunting had been his choice of activities, having to concentrate on the tracking and the chase kept his mind busy enough that he didn’t have to think about his whole world spinning out of control. He had forgone patrolling for hunting that beta had spent all morning hunting and had been successful. It was only one rabbit but that was on purpose. Not wanting the hunt to end too quickly he had drug it out as long as he could. With the rabbit hanging from his jaws he made his way to the cache to drop it there before going to the den for some rest which he hoped would be that and not a constant barrage of nightmares that would keep him up as they always did. However, just as he stepped out of the trees into the clearing by the communal den he wanted to turn that very instant. What he saw, Moonshadow and Tagg together…he wasn’t in the mood to place nice. Yet he had no choice in the matter they couldn’t know. He took another step out from the trees in the direction of the den hoping he could just slip inside and not be noticed but then changed his mind and started to turn to go. [/dohtml] RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Moonshadow - Jan 23, 2017 [dohtml] OOC! @Kajika @Tagg so I didnt see that Kajika replied before I did so I'm just gonna say that Moonshadows back is to Kajika and she didnt see him if that's fine with y'all She expected to startle him but didnt expect him to run away. When she saw him panicked and hackles raised she instantly felt bad. Whoops. Her ears flattened as he realized it was just her and relaxed. He whimpered an apology as he moved to her. "No I'm sorry. I didnt mean to startle you" she said in a low voice. His kisses cause a small smile to tug at her inky lips, as usual. She returned them with licks of her own salmon tounge and tail wagging steadily behind her large frame. He pressed his head under large skull causing a hum to vibrate his head. "But if its play you want..." Uh oh her ears pressed forwards and she lifted her head ever so slightly. Then it came her front paws came out from underneath her from her love swiping them. She stagered before catching herself and letting out a laugh. "Oh really now?" She laughed before allowing a play growl of her own to form. He wants to play they can play. Bouncing up she stood on her hind legs and allowed her front ones to fall on him. One landed on his neck and the other on his muzzle. She tried to push him over as she nibbled on his ear - her favorite go to. RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Tagg - Jan 23, 2017 [dohtml] ----------------------------------------------------------- Word Count: 218 Tagg needed to get over his issues, and while adrenaline was still coursing through him, Moon’s tendency to pounce on him unexpectedly would likely help him in the long run. His overwhelming aversion to hurting her or making her feel bad about herself would for him to face his demons, for better or for worse. With her help, he was sure it would be the latter. The scarred veteran was relieved to feel the hum vibrating through the top of his head when he nuzzled, but that didn’t stop his playful attack. He was disappointed when his lady didn’t fall, but seeing as she was still in the mood to play he didn’t have to be for long. Her paws came down on him, and were quickly followed by her teeth. “Come now, my ear has seen enough abuse, and I won’t have any ear left at all if you keep this up.” He teased, twitching his head away. He didn’t mind when she tugged on his ears; he thought it was endearing. His half-hearted effort to escape turned him just right, and he saw a dark shape trying to slip away. “Kajika!” He called, unaware of the beta’s mood. He wanted to thank him for his advice, as he hadn’t had the opportunity to do so yet. "Speech" Thought RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Kajika - Jan 24, 2017 [dohtml]
That was where he intended to go, they were so busy being caught up in themselves that they wouldn’t notice he had been there for the few moments he had. They also wouldn’t notice his retreating form through the trees. How terribly wrong he was because just as he was about to go he heard Taggs voice behind him calling his name. With another deep breath and a moment to gather himself he finally turned around. “Is there something you needed Tagg?” he asked trying to keep any emotion he felt about the current situation from his tone. They couldn’t know how he truly felt, Tagg had admitted his feeling for Moonshadow and it seemed she felt the same toward him. He wouldn’t be the one to ruin anything especially if it was what Moonshadow wanted. [/dohtml] RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Tagg - Jan 24, 2017 [dohtml] ----------------------------------------------------------- Word Count: 201 When Kajika paused, Tagg thought for a moment he might continue on like he hadn’t heard his call, but the beta turned around. The veteran disentangled himself from Moon and offered her an affectionate lick so she knew she wasn’t being abandoned, then trotted towards the other wolf. “Is there something you needed Tagg?” The way he spoke pulled Tagg to a halt, ears flicking back in confusion. Something was wrong with his friend, but he didn’t know what. Uncertainty pulled at him. Is everything alright? It’s probably because I haven’t thanked him yet. He thought. He let his tail sway a little to try to set his friend at ease. “I wanted to thank you.” He said, offering a smile before glancing back at Moon. “He helped me get up the nerves to talk to you the other day.” He explained before turning back to Kajika with a grin. “Obviously, it went well. I really owe you.” The idea that his words might cause his friend more pain instead of helping to ease his mind didn’t enter his thoughts. He was trying to be kind. “You’re a true friend, Kajika.” He said warmly. "Speech" Thought RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Moonshadow - Jan 24, 2017 [dohtml] OOC! Out of character comments here Her attempt to knock the russet man over had failed but she was successful in grabbing his ear. He protested naturally but she held on until he pulled it from her mouth. His attempt to escape pulled his appendage from her and when he called put her teachers name she put all fours on the ground. Her posture was still happy and friendly as usual as she turn to see the retreating form of the man. She gave him a warm smile which faultered when he responded to Tagg almost harshly. There was a coldness in his words that the young student hadn't ever seen or heard before. It took her aback and she instantly knew there was something wrong. The dark man was trying to hide it but she knew him better than that. She looked at him with concern easily showing that she saw through his façade easily. She kept quiet for now but fully intended to seek him out later and talk to him. Just because she loved Tagg didnt mean she couldn't still be there for her friend...right? RE: Fallen Tree Cove Pack Thread - Kajika - Jan 24, 2017 [dohtml]
The beta waited for the man to speak his gaze did not drift to Moonshadow but stayed fixed on Tagg waiting for the man to speak. The dark furred man was relieved when he was finally spoken to hoping he could get out of this horrible experience a little sooner. As it was the tawny mal saw fit to thank the beta for his advice, “You’re welcome, I’m still glad that you were able to come to me for help,” He said genuinely offering a nod. Even though he wasn’t exactly happy about the results the fact that Tagg had thought of him when he had a problem was still appreciated. He glanced at Moonshadow when Tagg looked back at her, he wasn’t ready to deal with her just then and most certainly not in front of Tagg but he did see the concern in her eyes but he couldn’t fix it this time and there wasn’t anything he knew to say to take that look out of her eyes. “I’m glad I could help and I’m happy for the both of you,” he said again trying to not let what he was feeling to engulf the words. He had to keep it down for them, he may have lost his chance but that didn’t meant that they had to lose theirs. The desire to be anywhere but where he was at that moment only grew stronger until he had to force himself to stay just a bit longer so that it didn’t seem like there was something wrong. And then It only got worse as words that Kajika wasn’t sure were true fell from the man’s mouth, ‘You’re a true friend’ he didn’t feel much like it but he plastered a smile on his face, “Thank you,” was all that he could get out in regards to that.
