Raela was quick to support him, and Gent once more felt deep appreciation for the woman wash over him. In his mind, they had lead this meeting together seamlessly, signaling a very bright outlook for their future together as leaders. The doubts she had once voiced to him echoed through his mind, and he could help a small smile sneak across his muzzle as he hoped that today might help to erase such insecurity if it still remained inside of her. Yet the expression vanished as Draven's voice suddenly tore through the air. Gent was surprised for multiple reasons that the discussion would elicit such a reaction from the boy, and his pale eyes remained upon him as he spoke. For perhaps the thousandth time, he regretted that Minka had chosen to speak of Tokino at all to the children, so determined to weave the dead man into their lives. He could only imagine how different, how better, things might be if they had not known of him.

His jaws parted to answer the boy, concerned that he would think that they, including his own mother, had simply done nothing in response to such disrespect, wanting to maintain Minka's image a strong leader rather than a woman of inaction, but Calanthe's voice jumped into the air before his, and the king decided to wait out the tide of responses before answering to any of them at all. His gaze jumped between each of them as they voiced their opinions at last, even catching the subtle nod of Cessair's muzzle, and was pleasantly surprised that even Kova agreed with the monarchs on the matter. Relief swept through him, for he head feared he might receive some friction over the matter. That they might continue ahead in solidarity was far better that he could have hoped for, and a subtle sense of pride tickled his chest to know that each of his subordinates was wise enough to face this matter so reasonably.

When the voices died down altogether, Gent's gaze returned to Draven as he at last was able to answer him.

"Your mother wanted to give them a chance to make things right, Draven. They were her friends once, and she thought to receive respect by extending it," he informed him, his voice far gentler than it would have been if an adult had raised such noise against him. With that his pale eyes regarded the rest of the pack, and he addressed them as a whole. "I'm happy that we can be in such agreeance over the matter. I will be moving to end the alliance, then, and offer them neutrality instead. Hopefully, they'll take it, and we can move on from this matter."

He turned his head then to face Kova, speaking so that only he may hear as he promised, "if we can't get any information from them, we'll find it some other way, Kova. We won't just give up on finding who did it."

"Alright, everyone. I believe that's everything. Remember, Raela and I are available to speak with privately if you have any further questions or concerns."

RE: he made a present of this silver - Kova - Dec 26, 2015

Kova gazed over at Gent flicking his ears to show his attention to the dark male's words. Though Kova was annoyed at how the Kjors acted he wasn't sure if he should blame all of the River wolves for the withheld information. They had been friends or a long time and he had good friends in the pack, so Kova was at least okay with them staying neutral. It was a far better option than outright becoming enemies with them. He wasn't sure if he could stomach having to fight with Karina if events unfolded badly for the two packs. “Yeah...” He answered softly as Gent reiterated that both he and Raela were available to speak with privately should anyone want to talk with them. Kova sighed then looked at Kino and Ari. They didn't seem to happy about the whole meeting either. He couldn't blame them for feeling that way.

Listening to the others for any other tidbits of information or arguments, Kova only stayed up until the others began to slip away. He went to follow Cessair out wanting to lean on her and comfort the elder after the emotions he'd watched her go through during the meeting. Now that business was over he felt that it was appropriate to comfort her now if she would let him Otherwise he'd get back out and finish up chores if the woman didn't want him around.
