RE: Tomorrow never knows - Wraith - May 07, 2016

[dohtml]

Only once @Enoki had moved away and @Craw was well into his meal did Wraith join him, providing ample room between them should his friend feel the need to exert any authority over the meal with the female in sight. Usually, the pair were able to comfortably eat together, but adding another wolf to the mix always provided room for the unexpected. Having come from a large family, Wraith was luckily accustomed to not partaking in the choice meats like liver, spleen, and heart. However, the was a sliver of spleen left for him to enjoy which quickly bloodied his muzzle further as the laden organ oozed out between his teeth.

His eyes lifted as Enoki suggested they bring the carcass with them. It was a sound decision, though an exhausting one. Luckily, their hunt had not drawn out long or they'd not have the energy left for the journey back. Once Craw had finished his own meal, Wraith took a few more bites to stave off the worst of his hunger before pulling away as well. He could continue his meal once they carcass was safely within pack territory - the sooner, the better.

If they were going to take it with them, they might as well expend the extra effort to bring all of it along. Not keen on making a trip back for bits that would likely already be picked clean by the number of vultures congregating in the sky, the northerner took hold of the carcass in a similar place to where he'd bitten to take the beast down in the first place. Situated just behind its horns, Wraith began to tug with all his strength behind him, dragging the carcass some on his own already, a clear sign for his packmates to join in. The pack would eat well tonight.

RE: Tomorrow never knows - Craw - May 19, 2016

Didn't realise it was my turn, sorry guys! Archived, thanks to you both for the thread and enjoy the LP <3

Craw smiled into the red flesh as @Enoki spoke of feeding the pack with proper red meat, for that had been his incentive at the start. And look, here they were, successful. He had not contest @Wraith's eating alongside of him, for while they were different in rank and this was a pack's meat, he had quite gotten used to behaving more like equals when it came to Wraith and food. At the very least, he knew the man well enough to know that there was no slight or insubordinate behaviour to be insinuated from it.

Contented, and now with the prospect of dragging the carcass back home, Craw moved away to let Wraith finish, contemplating the distance. He was pleased indeed for having brought Wraith along, for the two of them were strong, sturdy men and with some patience and determination would do well at taking the body home. Enoki's efforts would just make it all the easier. Once it was clear they were ready, and Wraith grasped the pronghorn by the base of its skull, Craw moved to sink his teeth into the flesh of its biceps, so they could drag the carcass front-first.

They had made an effective team. What had started out a shit day had turned into something productive, and there was no way he'd let any filthy coyotes get at this one.
