RE: Harden you heart - Galen - Mar 25, 2024

Little chatter came to follow after his emotionally charged input on the situation, swarthy ears pinning themselves back as his brother came to be the voice of reason that was shortly supported by their leader. While Galen didn't necessarily disagree with what was proposed now, he couldn't shake the feeling it still wasn't enough. Nor could Galen place why it did, but the small glimpse of the duos relationship, mirroring almost like what he assumed a father and son relationship to be, caused an equally small pang in his chest. The latter was easily dismissed, though.

"Count me in."

He didn't feel he was adequate in his own skills currently to properly call himself a guardian, but after all he had been through with his tawny age-mate and the gnawing guilt of wishing he could have been there, should have been there to protect her, his decision was made. He'd undergo all the rigorous and gruesome training it took to ensure nobody else he cared deeply about would be hurt ever again.

RE: Harden you heart - Kokonoe - Mar 25, 2024

Had Koko been human she would've swore her eyes were like ping pong balls the way they bounced between those that spoke up not so much in defiance of their leader's decree, but for a call to action while the rest remained content to keep their voices silent. Herself included. The chocolate woman was hardly established yet amongst her peers that seemed to be majority kin one way or another, leaving herself to feel like the odd wolf out. Yet she didn't let that small factor dull her mood one bit.

The woman's ears pricked forward and her icy blue gaze shifted from the agouti fellow that spoke quite understandable in connection to what those prior voiced to their swarthy leader as he delivered his closing statement for this gathering. It was made known that those of guardian and scout roles or interest would be called upon shortly, neither in which captured Koko's fancy. Kokonoe liked all things pretty and the things associated with those roles were far from pretty. No thanks.

With the dismissal granted she rose to her paws, glancing around at her pack mates before sauntering off back toward the lake that remained inbound of their new prison cell. She needed a drink.

RE: Harden you heart - Matos - Mar 31, 2024

Emerald and amber continued to look around at the collection of wolves that were gathered and seemed to have mix emotions of the decrees. Some spoke up, others remained silent like him, but all were concentrated on his father. The dark agouti man who had become like an older brother to the Eastfall boy spoke of being cautious in their handling of the situation. Continuing to nod his head in agreement Matos once more focused on Nash as he began to speak again.

His father's words were powerful as he spoke, evoking quite a stir of emotions within his only son. Caution does not equal inaction, a mental note the onyx youth committed to memory. An involuntary flick floated down to his tail as the call for all guardians and those who wished to be guardians would meet with him to plan and prepare. He wasn't a youngster anymore and was determined to do his part to protect and avenge his family.

The Eastfall male would wait around a bit to see if anyone else had anything to add. If not he would filter out, making his way back near the border to secure them and possibly find more to hunt. A good run would be good for training anyways.

RE: Harden you heart - Ally - Mar 31, 2024

the night comes down like heaven

Ally listened intently as their leader responded to those speaking out, both in favor of what he'd said and against. He calmly accepted their critique, invited them to speak to him further about it but released them from the meeting. Ally lingered, gaze drifting over those assembled, curious to see if any would approach the leader. Galen spoke out that he was in, but everyone else seemed to be done - at least for now - and drift off.

Her grandmother emerged from the den, quietly waiting, and Ally gave her a small nod before slinking off to find something useful to do. She couldn't scout and she couldn't fight - not that she wanted to do either of those things - so maybe she could find something to hunt. Maybe she could bring Magg a present and help her feel better...

RE: Harden you heart - Diantha - Mar 31, 2024

It was no surprise to her that her brothers both spoke out, but having Leo disagree with Galen was a little bit of a surprise. Then again, her littermate had a point - he'd been the one to drag their friend up the mountain. She glanced between them, then gave a small sigh of relief when Galen didn't argue further. She hoped he talked to their leader after, though, and offered his insight. He probably had more than she did. Not unlike her brother, she noticed the shared look between Nash and Leo and also felt a twinge of something. Perhaps jealousy, that her eldest brother had found something in the leader that she hadn't found in anyone else.

Her chest ached with longing for her parents anew, and as the pack drifted apart she did the same, silently slipping back into the undergrowth and pondering what she wanted to do during their lockdown. Not like she went out much anyway.
