RE: Whisper Caverns Pack Thread - Narimé - May 30, 2014

Narime watched her son accept his mission and looked after his black shape as it bounded out of the cave. He had the easy task whereas she had the slightly harder one. There was more information in her message to Nina than what she had given to Elettra. Nari also wanted to inform Nina of Danica's presence within her pack. Nari knew that she should also leave as soon as possible to get to Nina's territory. It was a lot farther off than Willow Ridge and would take her a few days to get back.
.
Quietly she slipped out of the den and started back towards the edges of her territory.

RE: Whisper Caverns Pack Thread - Titan - Jul 29, 2014

-gives some love to the pack thread-

Today was a slow day for the young Thorben. He had woken up late and started out looking for breakfast way past morning. Though the day was starting to look nice once he caught a ground hog for himself. Eating the creature where he caught it; Titan filled himself comfortably before heading out and looking for herbs other than the plentiful species like ergot, goldenrod, and arnica.
.
Granted to say the rest of the day hadn't gone well. The young male came back empty pawed and determined that he would go out into Lore tomorrow to search for other herbs. Kassanders stash was well stocked, but the three species that grew best in their territory were what filled most of the medicinal plant stash simply because they were so plentiful. The young wolf wanted to practice identifying plants that he was less sure of. Things like lavender hyssop, hellebore, soloman's seal, and scrub pine. Those particular herbs were not as well stocked as the others.
.
So now he stood in the den wondering if a pack mate might show up. Titan wanted to warn someone that he might be gone for a few days looking for herbs. However right this moment there didn't seem to be anybody around. Tentatively Titan called out unsure if wolves were napping nearby.
.
"Anybody here? Mom? @Ash?" Titan called before scenting around with his nose trying to smell who had been here most recently. " @Rook? @Kassander @Danica?"Stepping through the darkness the blackish wolf called for his friends and family.

RE: Whisper Caverns Pack Thread - Titan - Aug 25, 2014

Trotting slowly into the cavern Titan huffed quietly glad to be back home once more. He had been resting in the familiar dark tunnels since he arrived back from Secret Woodlands. With the sand, dirt, and stone cooling his body the young Thorben heaved a sigh while he lay quietly in his sleeping spot. @Danica should be close by as usual and the thought of talking with her did cross his mind. However, he was unsure if he should mention the mission he had just come from. How would she take the news from her mothers pack?
.
Deciding not to bother her if she slept, Titan lie his head upon his jet black paws and rested his eyes.

RE: Whisper Caverns Pack Thread - Vaeta - Dec 10, 2014

It was dark and cool. Secluded and private... though the caverns did not provide the peace and tranquility that she looked for in a home. Vaeta Tainn loved the open meadows at the Caverns doorstep. She often found herself frolicking in them far more often then she spent her time within the cavern walls. She did not like not being able to see the sky. Did not enjoy the luminous pointed rocks above her body nor the hard flat stone under her paws. She enjoyed the shifting of earth. Sand, even, as she had loved her time on the beach before she decided to return back to Relic Lore.

Still it was the scent of her brother that had brought her here and yet what still kept her here. She had yet to meet @Nios , always seemingly to have just missed him. That is why she found herself slumping around the caverns den site this day. Whilst the sun was high in the sky and the air was cool and crisp, Vaeta had decided to sacrifice a good time outdoors in a hope that she might happen upon her brother here. Having lost track of her father's scent some time ago while she was still a part of Secret Woodlands and having been left behind by Mirren and his mate, Nios was really the only family which Vaeta had left. Nios, in particular, had been the one family member she had not seen for the longest amount of time, granted he had left the Vale before everyone else. Perhaps today would be her lucky day.

RE: Whisper Caverns Pack Thread - Vaeta - Dec 24, 2014

Her search was not yet over.... would it ever be? She had been living in this pack for a number of weeks now and had hoped that by now she would have ran into her brother @Nios , if not all the members of her pack. Her focus had been her brother, however, and although she would smile and say her hellos to those she passed by, she had been on the look out for the one thing that truly mattered in her life - family. The gypsy girl, after all, had come here looking for him in the first place, having gotten a hold of his scent. Why was it this hard? Perhaps it was that he worked harder watching the borders then she had expected and she was just missing him every time? Perhaps he had been injured in a scuffle with a rogue or another predator and was locked up away in the caverns somewhere healing? After all, Vaeta was reluctant to go within the deep depths of the caverns. Even now she was out in the open world, with the chill of winter upon her, pushing further from the pack den as she made her way in search for him. Perhaps he was avoiding her? It was something she hated to think and now the very thought shook her. She whines, shaking the snows from her pelt and takes one last glance at the opening of the pack den before turning away and padding further and further from it.... Maybe another look around the borders would do her some good?

Adventure is Out There!

Look out! A blizzard is coming your way!

The sky has been cloudy all day, the temperature has been dropping quickly, and now the winds are beginning to pick up. What began as just a few harmless snow flurries is quickly turning into an all-out blizzard. Quick! Seek out a safe shelter to ride out the storm. Be careful, though! Visibility is very low and it will be easy to get lost.

RE: Whisper Caverns Pack Thread - Borden - Jan 28, 2015

January 27th; After midnight; Freezing fog; -18 ° F, -28 ° C

Rook had been gone for, oh - Borden tried to count in his head how many night-falls it had been since he had last been told "good-night" by his youngest son - well... to put it shortly, much too long. As was customary, the patriarch ever-so-carefully, lowered himself into his little spot against the cavern wall, just within sight of the grand entrance of the Caverns. He sprawled out onto his side, his muddied fore paws stretching out a shoulder's width apart so that he could place his chin and head between them on the ground.

The sounds of the old branches creaking from the cold made his bear-like ears perk up. He squared his shoulders and pressed his nose to the side of his left forearm. Of course there was nothing there but the darkest hours did little to spare his imagination. Once or twice over, he tried to close his eyes but each time the fog seemed to shift and the winter breeze slithered up against his fur he was wide awake.

With his good eye, he tried to peer through the night, wondering if Rook might return. After several minutes, though, he tried again to curl up into a ball and simply gaze into the depths of the den where he knew the others were sleeping. He thought to get up, to carefully maneuver his way deeper into the cave and find someone to cozy up next to, but decided against it. As far as he was concerned, a part of him was certain that Rook would return tonight and he very much wanted to be awake as to greet him first. A deep breath and a heavy sigh later, however, his eyes fluttered shut and he was lost to the comfortable reaches of slumber...

RE: Whisper Caverns Pack Thread - Borden - Feb 28, 2015

February 27th; Morning; Mist; 10 ° F, -12 ° C

For the past few days, it seemed that Borden Lyall had not moved so much as an inch. Really, the only time he had bothered to get up was for three reasons: first, to stretch his legs; secondly, to relieve himself; and, lastly, to survey and listen to his immediate surroundings in case Rook was on his way over and he had missed his son's announced arrival (which, he supposed, would be some sort of howl or excited bark). Then, whenever he was through, he circled back around and returned to his spot within the Caverns to position himself just as he had been only moments before.

The recent forecast of fog and mist had made it hard to traverse the trails he usually walked in order to make his day worthwhile. By now, he supposed he might have missed several opportunities that hinted at his son's impending return; but, something within him knew that he was better off if he stayed put instead of wandering off and looking for him.

After remaining sphinx-like for so long, he finally let his head come down, resting his chin on his right forepaw. Even through half-lidded eyes, the world seemed bleak and less than half-exciting. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and curled his tail close to his side, wanting nothing more than to sleep the lonesome hours away. If Rook was going to be true to his word - and, surely, he would - he would come to Borden without hesitation or the slightest hint of a doubt. All he had to do was to practice patience and remember that he was here in Whisper Caverns for a reason...

RE: Whisper Caverns Pack Thread - Narimé - Aug 30, 2015

[dohtml]

It was so empty. Never had the caves felt so cold and barren to Nari until now. Only her children and her mate traveled the caves and tunnels. With Ash keeping guard of their dwindling territory, Nari was overburdened trying to hunt for herself and her children. She expected the others to hunt for themselves with so few members, but now it was getting hard making ends meet. She had just finished checking on all of their previously stocked caches only to find that they were empty. Completely and entirely gone, an empty cache meant that she would have to be away from her children for even longer periods of time trying to find food for them. Narimé still held her pride, and for the longest time she had refused to go to Willow Ridge for more help. Now though, with winter coming Nari could see that they were in a horribly tight spot. She could see the end of the rainbow dipping into a black horizon filled with the starved corpses of herself, Ash, and Yuka as the snow began to fall. They would not make it through winter by themselves. The children might if the adults gave them all their food, much like what her father had done with her while they traveled. However she and Ash wouldn't see the next year if they did that. That much she felt in her stomach as it rumbled in hunger. She had already given up her own meals for the pups.  Al she could imagine was her fathers thin frame as he ordered her to eat before him. She didn't want to do that to her own children.

Traveling the length of the tunnels once more to reminisce, Nari knew that she and Ash would have to make a hard decision soon. Either to stay and try to endure one more year, or to split up and stay with their former allies. It was all she could think of right now despite her stomach aching. The children were still very healthy, and hopefully their allies would welcome them with the hope that they may pair up with their own offspring to continue their pack. Nari wondered though, what would she do if her family was saved by another pack? Would she try to bring back the caverns? Or would she go crawling back to Elettra like the weakling she used to be? Nari never lost her loyalty to El, but she certainly gained strength of mind and body while being away from Willow Ridge. She didn't know if she could have anyone above her other than Elettra. Though it pained her to think that she would cause trouble in the ranks it was something that would be unavoidable if she were to go back there.

First things first... I need to get my family to safety. Ash should agree I think..... I think Nina would allow entry to her nieces and nephews. They are family after all. She thought quietly while sitting in the main room of the caverns. The large pillars glistened in the dim light as water dripped down their sides. She would forever miss this place. If only things could be different.
