I HAVE LOVED THE STARS TOO FONDLY
TO BE FEARFUL OF THE NIGHT

Something within her told her it was time, time for the heirs of the lake to finally make the transition from their birthing den to live with the rest of their family. Of course she was nervous, but it was a necessary transition for them to make. They wouldn’t and couldn’t stay by her side forever, and at two months they were already getting bigger than she’d like. Their birthing den was large, but not large enough for four of them as the pups grew like weeds every day. With them under the constant watch of the pack members once the move was complete, she would be able to return full time to her duties. They were beginning to be weaned as well, and at this point they were to be given only chewed or regurgitated pieces of meat from her or other’s meals. Soon they would be off of it completely and, in turn, off of her. Already they were exploring more widely, she having let them begrudgingly travel no more than a mile or so from the den. They had done well with it so far, and she couldn’t ask for more.

She also knew that, with this move, she would now be able to do the traveling that she had planned. To go and see Whisper Caverns and perhaps make an ally out of them, to see what may have happened of her dear friend @Rook . The prospect brought her anxiety of leaving her lands, but at the same time brought her great excitement to once again be able to go out and see more than what was their borders. With all of this swimming in her mind, she allowed herself in the clearing that wasn’t too far from the den. Lifting her head to the sky, she called her packmates to come and join her to officially welcome the pups into their lives.

RE: The Future Is Now - Kajika - Jul 20, 2015

[dohtml]

Kajika had been sunbathing when the sound of his Alpha’s call reached his ears.  He was quickly up and on his feet running through the pack lands.  He was curious what she might want which was one reason that he hadn’t hesitated, the other was to hopefully show her that he was serious about earning his place and about being in the pack.  He didn’t want to give her reason to doubt anything that he had said in their meeting and he didn’t want her to have reason to question Des’s judgement since she was the one that had brought him here.

He made his way quickly not wanting to be late but when he was closer to the clearing he slowed his pace.  He stepped out into it expecting to see the others there already but it seemed he was the first to arrive.  He wasn’t sure exactly if there was a certain place he should be so he stay back a little to wait for the others to arrive.  He would then choose a place once they all had theirs. He thought that was the best course of action.  So he sat back on his haunches to wait for the arrival of the rest of his pack mates, it would be a good chance to see them all in one place.

RE: The Future Is Now - Angele - Jul 21, 2015

A summoning cry dragged Angele out of her slumber.  She lay still for a moment before slowly climbing to her feet.  Though she'd been wounded almost a month ago, her shoulder still bothered her a bit, and her movement were still a little stiff.  Even though she'd rather spend her time resting, the call of an alpha was nothing to ignore.

Reluctantly, Angele made her way slowly to the birthing den from which the summons had come.  Whatever could the Queen want with the whole pack?

She paused a short distance away, sniffing the air to determine who had arrived.  Namid was, of course, there, and a male Angele had yet to be introduced to.  She grumbled quietly to herself about wishing she was back in her own little cubby curled up and contentedly slumbering and limped into the small clearing.  She glanced at the mostly black man and twitched her ears in his direction to acknowledge his presence as she approached Namid and gave her a shallow bow.  "Namid."  She greeted her, backing away again and seating herself.   She ran her tongue over her shoulder a few times to sooth it before sliding down onto her belly to wait.  "Please pardon me for resting." She told the queen, "My shoulder is still bothering me a bit."

Angele turned her attention to the male.  They were equal in size, except for weight, which Angele conquered. Not that she was overweight, just a little heavier than him. He seemed a little worn down and tired, but strong and healthy none-the-less. She watched him for a moment before addressing him.  "I am Angele.  You are?"

RE: The Future Is Now - Desideria - Jul 21, 2015

[dohtml]
The female had just returned from her most recent exercise session when a familiar voice echoed through the territory. Ears swiveling, Desideria rerouted herself from her usual sunning destination to the source of the call, deep within the pack lands. She'd no idea why her alpha was calling, but never would she ignore the voice of her leader. Even if it was not a cry for aid nor was it something particularly alarmed, so she did not sprint, but all the same, the rogue was not lazy in her arrival to the meeting grounds.

It seemed a few of her packmates had beat her to Namid's side, but she was still well within the first half of the group. Allowing herself one small, congratulatory smile, she dipped her head towards the silvery female in a show of respect before turning to pad to her friend's side. Angele was also give a brief, smaller nod – they'd hunted well together, and perhaps she'd forgiven the beta's sister a bit for their first interaction. All the same, she felt compelled to sit with the friend she'd recruited to join the pack.

Pacing a half-circle around him, the tawny female sat on Kajika's right side. With a soft chuff, she reached upwards to nuzzle the male's cheek, tongue flicking out against his jawbone in a brief greeting. If there was any question who was her favorite wolf, well- That was answered now. Laying her tail against the subordinate's haunches, she waited for the other wolves to gather. "Any idea what's going on?"

RE: The Future Is Now - Kajika - Jul 22, 2015

[dohtml]

Kajika waited patiently for the rest of the pack to arrive.  First was a female that he had yet to meet.  He watched as she showed her respect to the alpha before she came over to introduce herself to him, "Its a pleasure to meet you, I'm Kajika," he said with a bow of his head.  Next to arrive was Des, she too gave Namid a nod before she came over to join him where he was seated.  This was something that he would have to remember for the next time they were all called together like this.

Des took a seat next to him on his right once she had offered a nod to Angele.  The then gave a chuff before nuzzling his cheek and licking his jaw in greeting. His tail swished happily behind him as he returned her greeting with a chuff of his own and licking her cheek.  She then asked about what was going on, Kajika shook his head.  "No I don't but I am very curious," he told her before he also settled down to wait for the others to arrive so that they could find out what they had been called for.

RE: The Future Is Now - Vespertio - Jul 23, 2015

[dohtml]

The steady drumming of paws crushing pine needles echoed off the stillness of the delightful day. Vespertio's masculine cologne dousing the portions of invisible fence he found to be weaker than he liked. Today was going to be a huge day for the pack and the patriarch couldn't afford for something to ruin the special occasion. Today, the pups would be making the transition from the cramped birthing den into the communal den and become fully fledged into their extended family. Golden optics peered out into the surrounding landscape that lay adjacent to his lakeside paradise, plush tail swaying idly at his hocks until the song of his wife broke the silence beckoning all Fallen Tree Cove members. It was time.

Swiftly creamy limbs were dashing across the needle riddled floor of his forest abode, coral tongue dangling partially as tawny sides rose and fell heavily with the efforts of keeping his lungs filled while he ran. His pace slowing once the aroma of his beloved and the handful of subordinates gathered breached his sinus cavities. Curling his banner over his spine, regal steps led him to take his position at Namid's side after adorning her cheek with an affectionate kiss. Liquid gold gaze then shifting to greet each member gathered thus far with a small nod and gentle smile. A small glint of surprise passing over his irises at the dark coated man sitting before him. The lingering scent of two fresh male subordinates heavy within the territory, but the busy patriarch had little time to officially meet them. Although, it was pleasant to witness the arrival of one of them so quickly to their alpha's summon.

Reclining onto his haunches, Vespertio sat silently as he awaited the arrival of the rest of the pack. Curious to see Primrose if she would decide to join them or not. The woman was currently on borrowed time and would soon become expired. No longer would her intolerable behavior go unpunished.

RE: The Future Is Now - Anthem - Jul 24, 2015

[dohtml]

OOC TEXT

He had been wandering in Spectral Woods, walking the deer trails and noting were the scents of rabbits lay thick in the air. He was making sure that he remembered where everything was so that he could find them at a moments notice. Border patrol and hunting could take up most of someone's day if they weren't careful so almost guilty Anthem hadn't done either and instead had come here to the woods that he thought of as his 'playground' or something similar. Since joining the Cove he had slipped away to the woods for various reasons, hunting being the most prominent one. He had gotten up early but now he was making his way back mostly to check on things and then he would leave again.

Nearing the borders the sound of Namid's call filled his ears and his head went straight up. He stood their for a brief second and then he was moving forward. His paws thudded against the earth as he made his way closer to the birthing den. Wondering if it was time for the pups to greet the pack he speed up a grin flashing across his face as he remembered that he was going to be their 'Uncle'. The fresh scents of his pack mates greeted him and he slowed as he finally appeared glancing around to see who was all here and who needed to arrive yet. Seeing Angele speaking to Kajika he brushed against her in silent greeting and gave the others a nod before moving to sit near Vespertio. He gave his friend a brief smile and dip of his head as he sat down, giving Namid the same greeting. He didn't see Nathaniel yet but Anthem was sure he would come, maybe he had slept in? The thought made Anthem's lips pull up in a faint grin.

RE: The Future Is Now - Nathaniel - Jul 27, 2015

[dohtml]

When the call came crashing down upon his ears, Nathaniel wasn't quite sure he wanted at all to answer it. While his time with Fallen Tree Cove was growing into quite a substantial chunk already, he hadn't familiarized himself with any of those who might call him a brother in arms. Instead, he'd stayed close to the sides of his true siblings if not one his own learning the topography of this new home. Catching up with them, reliving the bright parts of their past together, relaxing, having fun and feeling normal once more had consumed his allotted social time. To go now and see all the strangers he had been avoiding, all at once, felt very overwhelming.

Still, he knew that such conventions were the price he would now have to pay to remain with his family. Sucking up how purely uncomfortable he knew he would soon be, Nathaniel pushed himself onto his paws and treaded on, toward Namid's siren call. It wasn't too long before he arrived, though a substantial amount of others had already gathered. Torn between avoiding eye contact and scanning those around him, Nathaniel's eyes darted wildly from stranger to stranger to the ground to his siblings to Namid to the ground to stranger.

It wasn't until he had reclined at Anthem's side that the man began to relax, just a little bit. He offered his brother and sister a genuine smile, before silently attempting to focus on the beauty of an alpha who'd been the cause of this awkward little gathering.

RE: The Future Is Now - Angele - Jul 27, 2015

[dohtml]

The pack members were quickly gathering, joining the few of them who had arrived first.  Angele eyed Desideria as she cozied up to the man who'd introduced himself as Kajika. He's too nice. she decided, dismissing their cuddling and stiffly pushing herself up to sit.  It didn't take long for her brothers to arrive, sitting beside Vesperio.  With a sigh she reluctantly joined them, sitting a little further from Nathaniel than he was from Anthem.  She still wasn't quite sure of him yet; her suspicious nature still drove a small nagging feeling in the back of her mind.  She didn't know why she didn't quite believe his innocent purpose here.  She told herself over and over again that there was no reason for him to be lying; he'd come with the same purpose she herself had held.  If she kept telling herself that, and acting as if that were the truth, she would soon be able to convince herself of it.  To prove this to herself, she nudged his shoulder with his nose.  "Where've you been lately?" She asked in a playfully mocking tone.  "If I didn't know better, I'd think you were avoiding us."

Angele returned her eyes to her alphas, who were patiently awaiting the rest of the pack.  There were only a few more to arrive; the elusive healers, for one - or more accurately two - and that little white devil that set Angele on edge.  She hadn't properly met her, but the time's she'd crossed her scent while wandering about the territory made her dislike her.  She surveyed the area, almost challenging the others to confront their alphas.  She wasn't beta yet, but she still took it upon herself to make sure that no harm even approached their queen.
