The Appearance of a Newcomer - Shinku - Aug 18, 2015

It took Shinku a full week to cross from the wooded highlands of Stonewatch Timber to this always green place, the beautiful Kingfall. "By the gods... What is this place?" Shinku was totally stunned by such a beautiful scenery. Extremely tall and majestic sequoia trees everywhere you gaze and other rich vegetation could be found literally in any spot of this place. Oh, and let's not talk about the variety of the wildlife! He spotted a cute, yet tasty family of American Martens near a tree a few steps away from him, towards his right. Shinku already ate something early, so he decide to just ignore them and save his energies for later. He have been in tons of places before, but Kingsfall was definitely a beauty he will never forget.

He kept wondering around, curiously and excitely looking his surroundings with a slight dropped jaw of wonder. "This place is so vast, that I wouldn't be surprised to find out it hasn't been proclaimed by a pack", Shinku mumbled as he jumped over a big rock that was on his way. It was like 4:00 P.M. and there was a fresh scent of fallen leaves from the trees, that crushed below Shinku's paws as he walked. The sky was blue and perfectly clear; there were no clouds to be seen. A cool summer breeze blew from time to time, making Shinku's gray fur wave around in harmony. Alas, this day was totally perfect for take a great nap under a tree or inside a cave. But sure, after eating something for keep the belly happy and all good!

After 35 minutes of nonstop walking and gazing, Shinku began to get thirsty. So far, he haven't saw any hint of a river or any water source. "There must be some source of water somehwere", mumbled Shinku as he boost up his pace, heading towards his right and passing through a narrow path naturally made by the sequoia trees. After a few more minutes, the Lone Wolf sensed the smell of fresh water and his ears perked up as he caught the sound of streaming water. He smiled widely as he began to quickly follow the sound and smell. "It must be a river!" he shouted, his mouth already watering by just the thought of taking a great drink of that water. "Just in time!"

A river was running amidst the mighty trees of Kingsfall. The river cutted through the forest, fulled by the waters of a nearby lake. Like before, the landscape was a lush of vegetation and there was plenty of pray. Even some fish were letting themself be dragged by the course of the stream. Shinku, arriving at one side of the river, quickly got close to the water, sighing with relief and licking his lips. He leaned in and began to drink, his mouth finally hydratizing and some of his energy been replenished. After a minute of drinking, he stood up straight and sighed deeply. Then, he stretched out a bit, yawning. "Oh, yes... This was definitely what I needed..." he said with a relaxed smile. He looked around, curious. "I wonder in which part of this forest I am..."

So far, everything was going easy as pie for Shinku and luckily, he didn't encountered any predators or weird things. Neither he found any sign of other wolves around, so he was quite sure this whole place was "no wolves land". That wasn't true, though. Upon the banks of this river and withing the greenery woodland, the pack of Hearthwood River thrive... And Shinku was obviously traspassing their territory, but not because he wanted to. He just didn't knew and was just a simple newcomer.
