Calanthe hesitated. Again. For... what was this now, the eighteenth time? The nineteenth? Eventually she was going to have to stop putting this off and just swallow her nerves and actually ask to talk with Minka. This was important, after all. @Raela had told her the Queen was the best hunter in the pack; who better than Minka, then, to ask about pursuing a role as the pack's Hunter? It wasn't as though she intended to fight anybody for her place in the pack in the meantime; she was comfortable right where she was, and surely she didn't need any specific standing with the Crest in order to become their Hunter?

She had even finally had some defensive training now, courtesy of @Gent. She could start working to become a Hunter without any fear that she was going about it in the wrong order - without feeling any guilt that she had skipped one step in favor of a more preferable one (and, truth be told, her training under Gent had seemed it would be well-nigh impossible to survive until she had actually begun, so much so that the temptation to put it off indefinitely had been... strong.)

So all that she needed to do now was talk to Minka about what she needed to do in order to start earning her way towards a Hunter's role. After the daunting task of not getting squashed by Gent, this would be a walk in a nice, sunny meadow by comparison. All she had to do was call for Minka, who was hopefully in or near the den, and have a nice, calm discussion about what she needed to do in order to prove her worth as a Hunter and earn the role.

Very simple. Excruciatingly simple, in fact.

...She still needed to call Minka, first, though. The Queen who she still had not had the chance to meet personally. Who she knew only a very little about, only from her fellow pack mates. Who might be busy with one or several of her pups at the moment, what with the rain driving those who had a good enough excuse for it towards the shelter of the den. Calanthe had a good excuse for taking shelter. She needed to talk to Minka. Eventually. Sometime today.

Oh... spirit's teeth, fine, okay, here it went--

"Minka?" the pale wolf called softly. She figured her best bet might be the den the Queen shared with Gent and the pups... "Minka, if you have a moment, may I speak with you?"
