talisman - Cathair - Nov 30, 2015 All welcome (though RSC wolves preffered)! Border of RSC, Sunset, Clear 27 ° F, -3 ° C
[dohtml] Frost crackled underpaw, the dense coverage afforded by the plentiful conifers keeping away much of the snow that came and went. The sun's visits became shorter with each passing day, the angled rays that came through the canopy of the forest feeble and barely enough to warm the male's raven-black pelage, let alone the icy ground. He was growing tired of all this searching, his limbs burned and his belly ached from it's hollow perch high in his ribcage. Little more than a whim had lead him north, with nothing else go on as to which direction his siblings had fled. But his gut feeling had paid off when he caught a slight scent threaded through the timberland, faint but familiar. Calanthe. What had lead his poor sister here he could only guess, but was determined to get to the bottom of it. The scent could be days, perhaps even weeks old, but finally having something to go on only fueled his conviction. His dark claws sank into the frozen earth for traction as he practically threw himself up and down the hillsides, following the faint trail and it's many false starts and stops. As the sun began to sink in the west, Cathair had found himself at the base of a small mountain, the bounds of a pack. He wasn't interested in them, but rather his sister who seemed to be residing within. The Jaggedmaw tipped his head back, his rough voice bellowing out a demanding summons for @Calanthe. RE: talisman - Gent - Dec 03, 2015
Allowing a reason for Calanthe to not be the one bounding to answer Cathair by saying that Gent had asked her to scout the Lowlands for any herds. Caroline, when you're back, let me know if you prefer something different; I'll be vague enough that my post can be edited if need be.
[dohtml] It was during his final patrol for the day that a stranger's commanding call flooded the air, singing out a single name; Calanthe. Immediately Gent felt the fur along his spine raise in agitated spikes, tail curling high as his ears swiveled to pinpoint the direction from which the howl had come. Perhaps if the song had been more polite it would not have alarmed him so, but as it was, he was thankful that @Calanthe was not currently present within the Crest to hear summons so that he may be the first to answer it. Whoever this visitor was, he would need to prove that his intentions were benign before being allowed to contact his subordinate. Gent would not risk inadvertently offering the woman up to harm's way if he could help it. He was swift to descend the mountainside, carving his way through the towering forest at a powerful stride. When the man in question came into view, Gent was sure to hold a dominant posture. His pale eyes betrayed nothing as they regarded the masked wolf, taking note of everything they could from his build to the deep scar cut across his dial. "Who are you to demand my subordinate's presence?" he asked, brusquely cutting to the chase. RE: talisman - Ayla StarRiver - Dec 09, 2015 Ayla trotted along confidently, her paws that were now cracked from travel caused snow to crunch underfoot. Her pace slowed as she caught the scent of other wolves nearby, one was a pack wolf and the other a loner. Her tail swished slightly at the thought of other wolves, she had been alone for to long and these would be the first she has seen since she lost her family. She lowered her head and tail in respect to the pack wolf as she approached. Her grey eyes sparkled slightly with excitement as she looked at the two wolves standing before her. She approached cautiously though as these males were larger than she and she could tell they were in serious conversation. She sat down on her haunches and waited for the conversation to reach its conclusion and she could introduce herself. Her silvery pelt danced along with the light breeze as she sat not making eye contact with the high ranked pack wolf. Her father had told her to never look into the eyes of a higher ranking wolf unless told to do so, it was disrespectful and normally led to an attack if not done. She focused on the other wolf who was to speak. He had a dark coat, was rather large and seemed to be focused on something important. She straightened up slightly as to not seem cowardess and waited to be addressed. Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - Dec 09, 2015 Shallow water has trapped several fish in a small pond. Hunt Opportunity RE: talisman - Gent - Jan 04, 2016
@Ayla so sorry for the wait. you're up!
permission to pp Cathair's exit given by Kydnt. [dohtml] Their eyes locked for a brief moment before the sound of someone else approaching forced the beast to look elsewhere, icy gaze searching for this other with apprehension clawing its way up his spine. Two strangers simultaneously approaching him on the border? His lips lifted silently in a snarl as his eyes darted to Cathair's features, searching for any signs that he might be connected to the girl who was wading her way toward them, suspicions climbing within his head. Another leap of his gaze found the girl's face, blank and respectfully averted toward the ground, and then a final look was tossed to the man as the sound of his paws kicking up clods of snow in his wake snagged Gent's attention once more. Instinct reared up inside of him, and his muscles braced as he bared his teeth, wanting to take up chase and ensure the stranger left his forest completely. He wanted to immediately seek out @Calanthe, to pull her from the Lowlands and back into the safety of the pack's territory and get some answers (if she had any at all). Yet the alpha could only remain, unwilling to turn his back on the second foreigner. Her demeanor was leagues less threatening than the male's had been, but he would not take any chances. "Why are you here?" he asked bluntly, hoping she would take his pace and cut straight to the chase. The thought of Cathair tracking down Calanthe while she was so isolated from the pack made him nervous, and he wanted to wrap up this encounter swiftly so that he could ensure his subordinate's safety. RE: talisman - Ayla StarRiver - Jan 04, 2016 Ayla's gaze lifted ever so slightly to the dark males muzzle as she spoke gently, "I am obviously a Loner but my name is Ayla. I have been searching for a pack to join and you smell like the kinda wolf I need to be speaking to." She finished by taking a few confident steps forward. She could tell she had caught him at a very bad time and a small twinge of irritation leaked thought her body. Her pale emerald eyes glimmered with hope as she began to observe the dark male. He was much larger than herself and inheritably stronger but she was fast. Her sleek frame was built for speed and agility more than brute force. If he decided to attack or even lounge at her she was confident that she could dodge him. Water would slow down the heavier male with water weight and give her more time to get a head start on him. But she stood steadfast and waited for his reply with her ink dipped tail swaying slowly behind her. |
