we'll never drink your medicine - Nathaniel - Dec 04, 2015
For @Kajika only.
Dated 12/02 - (before Anthem's remains are found) misty, early morning. Random Event: Migrating geese are making quite the racket. [dohtml] The lake was a perfect resting point for many a migrating flock of birds of all shapes and sizes, yet for the wolves who claimed that territory this was less than convenient. Ever since the incident with @Cernan and @Neha and the swans, Nathaniel found himself becoming extra vigilant of what species chose to inhabit the lake and its shores, wary that any of the more dangerous kinds might once more attempt to attack the children. Those that might become a threat he took the liberty of chasing off, and this occurred more and more often as winter fell upon them and the flocks became more and more frequent. Today, the raucous honking of geese echoed across the peaks, and while he still was suffering the effects of his allergic reaction to Aconite from the previous day, Nathaniel stood vigilant at the water's side. Each time a flock of geese descended, he was quick to chase them off, snarling and barking to make just as loud of a racket as they were and scare them off. Sometimes they would turn upon him, attempting to intimidate him, and a brave few even took a few nips, but none were successful in deterring the man and ultimately fled with their family in tow. He did not tire of this, and resigned himself to spending the rest of the day as such. He supposed it was as good a task as any, certainly @Vespertio nor @Namid would complain. Sorry about this :c I'll do better, these two need a rep!
[dohtml] Nathaniel came to a point where a break was needed, and as he stilled his legs and allowed his tongue to loll with his panting, his pale eyes noticed that he was no longer alone upon the lake's shores. Kajika, another man whom he was vaguely familiar with, was taking a drink from the cool mountain waters. The beta stand-in looked upon him briefly before turning his eyes skyward, searching for the next wave of migrating fowl. As with the rest of his pack mates, it mattered little to him that he did not know this other member. Kajika ranked below him, but that didn't make much of a difference either. He felt neither authority nor inferiority, deference nor distaste; and certainly, no desire to actually socialize with him. Yet it seemed Nathaniel would not be allowed to isolate himself today as he always did. His gaze snapped back down to the earth and the similarly-colored wolf who stood across from him upon it as Kajika's voice entered the air, offering assistance. "Ahh," he hedged, considering his options and buying time by surveying an incoming group of geese. "Yeah. Sure." They didn't have to talk while they worked, right? After all, the birds' psittacism was enough noise in the air. Nathaniel's legs melted back into motion in anticipation of the flock's landing. The moment they hit the ground, he was bearing down on them at a full spring, fangs bared and a menacing growl rumbling forth. RE: we'll never drink your medicine - Kajika - Mar 23, 2016 No worries, I'm not doing much better myself, lol. They do!
[dohtml] The geese had become increasingly annoying as of late as they seemed to collect around the lake. Their honks echoed through the forest making it nearly impossible to enjoy a nice afternoon nap or even a conversation with a friend. So when he found Nathaniel at the lake chasing them Kajika thought that he could help the male chase them from the area and hopefully gain some peace for the pack. Not to mention the fact he did not know this particular pack mate very well he thought it might be a god chance to learn a little more about the man. Kajika offered a smile when his offer of help was accepted, “Great,” he stated as his attention was drawn to an incoming group of the birds. “Maybe we will be able to get some peace if we are successful.” At least the dark male hoped that would be the outcome as the group landed in the water some ways from the shore. That didn’t stop him nor Nathaniel and as his companion took off in the direction of the geese. He let out a few barks to help the geese along in their decision to leave the are.
