I will let you down - Ryvet - Dec 05, 2015 @Rook fyi :)
His legs ached as much as his heart did. Father was gone, mother was missing, Cinder was gone too, and if word was to be believed only Veho had really tried to seek her out. A blind man could have seen she would never leave her sister willingly, and had he not been on his way to the Reach when it happened he would have joined the medic and searched high and low. Of course there was always the chance her patience had worn thinner than his own and she had simply travelled back to Willow Ridge, but he doubted she would do so without at least telling Quil of her plans. Mismatched eyes peered between the sentinel trees under a worried brow. What was there for him here anymore? The weight that draped across his shoulders and wrapped around his ribs made it hard to breathe. But where would he go? Back to the Reach? There was as little there for him as there was here. Nothing but faded memories recalled kindly for their distance no doubt. Just like this place. They had left for a reason, and so he would again. Turning his back on the land of his birth without so much as a howl to bid his farewell, he travelled south and east, nose to the wind hoping to catch any scent of @Jaysyek or @Cinder. He even kept his nose open to try and find the scent of @Renier. He wasn't entirely sure of where he was going, but he knew for sure where he had been. There was no going back. |
