RE: Calm before the snowstorm - Isuni - Apr 27, 2016

The silence between the two was agreeable – she might not have minded at all if Enoki did not speak back up at all.  But when she did, Capable found her mouth curling into a slow smile.  The advice was wise, she realized, even if previous encounters had soured her a bit to the entire lot.  She knew better than that – perhaps this chance meeting was exactly what the redhead needed.  Not only to hear the words, but to be affirmed, to be realized, she was not alone in this feeling, nor was the piebald too proud to admit to it, either.

She ought to say something in return, the woman knew, even as her posture changed again, all signs of caution lost with the whistling winds.  “Thank you,” she whispered, even if her words were pulled from her mouth by the whipping air the moment they’d hit her lips.  Capable might have tried again, but Enoki had spoken up again.  Chancing a quick glance upwards, the woman would have to agree.  Far darker than it was when they’d set off, and they’d not been moving slowly by any means.

“It’s a deal,”
she agreed, and bolted off seconds after her companion.  Capable never did quite catch up to the older woman – but catching her lunch really seemed to be the least she could do for access to such sage wisdom.

Fade.
