Risen - Moira - Apr 07, 2016

Emerald optics watched the skies overhead, a smile curving her cream muzzle as the calls of the birds echoed above the canopy. What fun it would be, she thought, to fly among them - spread her wings and leave the ground behind. To truly encompass the will of the firebird. A shake of her head dislodged such thoughts, and the crimson lady continued walking through the valley. She wasn't sure where she was going, and to be quite honest, she truly didn't care. Not really.

Cream paws placed themselves one after the other in single file, similarly tipped tail swishing behind her in a languid fashion. Ears tipped forwards, alert - always on guard for any sounds or upcoming critters. She was hungry. Sort of. Kind of. Okay, maybe a little bit more than she cared to admit. The vermillion lady picked up the pace then, lowering her nose to the ground and starting to snuffle along to see if she could find a trail somewhere along the way. Something to keep her stomach occupied. She caught it then - the smell of something....tasty. Rabbit? Maybe...No..? Fox..no.. Definitely a rabbit.

Footfalls continued to pick up as the trail got fresher, her pelt sliding through the underbrush like a knife through butter... sort of. If you don't count the brambles.. and sticks... twigs....burrs.

RE: Risen - Lachesis - Apr 07, 2016

The pale leader knew he could not confine himself to the River territory and suffocate Naia with his presence. Of course he was worried — he was always worried — but looming over his baby momma the scout would only add unnecessary stress and tension between the two. Their friendship was what would make them successful parents come May, when the puppies were due; Lachesis did not want to do anything to jeopardize that in the meantime.

Maneuvering through the neighbouring territories with ease, the medic stalked through the land in pursuit of budding herbs that would be making their appearance with the arrival of spring. Luckily he did not have to use much of his inventory over the winter — his two main patients had been Maksim and Naia — so he did have quite a bit of old stock left over. However, he needed to replace what had been destroyed by the frigid temperatures as well as the plants that avoided winter completely. The last time he had been in this part of the Expanse snow had covered the majority of the territory, making it near impossible to locate any useful herbs. Now that the snow had almost left the land of Relic Lore, Lachesis could begin his collection expeditions.

He cut through the land with ease, long limbs carrying his slender body quickly over the terrain. Brambles and twigs lunged at his pelt as he pushed through the foliage, his movements slow as he took the time to observe his surroundings. The scent of another did not go unnoticed; it belonged to someone who was relatively new to the lands, as the wildness of Relic Lore had not fully blended into its pelt.

It was not until he caught sight of the russet loner that Lachesis realized he had been following her trail. A frown cut across his maw briefly as he gave a small woof to catch the girl’s attention, his brows furrowed. “You alright?” He asked curiously, hoping that he was not disturbing the loner.

The crimson lady had been keeping one hundred percent of her attention on the path she was following. Her nose remained glued to the ground...and emerald optics remained trained on the path ahead. It was the faint sound of other footprints that had the firebird turning. Ears swiveled and she felt her nose twitch, trying to separate the scent of the other wolf from the forest that surrounded her.

His woof gave away his position and she turned her attention that way. The maleshifter words made little sense...and she had to muse over themy to try and figure out what he meant. Of course she was okay...physically she had no new wounds..and only the brambles tucked into her pelt from her aborted hunt gave her a disheveled appearance.

"Yes." Of course she was alright.. did he not know when someone was hunting? While her initial witry retort was to snap some sort of snarky reply..she bit her tongue and instead curbed her initial reaction. Filter engage. "It seemseems my lunch is alright to...since it got away." Ears turned towards the male, her head canting slightly to the side. "I'm Moira."

Her initial reaction caused a frown to unfold across his maw as he studied her, brows pressed together. Clearly his presence alone had disturbed the crimson loner and he entertained the idea of turning around. However, he could not judge the female on her initial response; perhaps he had caught her off guard and that was the reason for her snarky retort. His tail flicked in irritation as he stood tall, his maw angled slightly upward as he studied the green-eyed stranger.

Wild was an accurate description for the wolf before him. The brambles clinging to her pelt it gave her a disheveled appearance and intrigued him, but he remained quiet as she spoke once more, commenting on the prey that escaped from her. “There’s plenty of prey to catch around here,” he commented with a soft roll of his shoulders to show his indifference. He felt partially responsible for the disappearance of her meal but there would be more rodents or deer to chase after their encounter… Spring did not only bring puppies to Relic Lore, but an abundance of prey as well.

“Lachesis,” he introduced after Moira had given her name, his pale gaze fixated on the russet girl. “Been here long?” He asked in an attempt to continue the conversation and to get to know the loner a little better. It was up to her if she would take a bite at the bait.

RE: Risen - Moira - Apr 14, 2016

"That's true, i is a forest, I suppose." Moira smirked, then sat down, looking around the pair of them. "So. What brings you here?" Through this particular patch of forest. Her lip curled - jaws parting and tongue curling as she scented the air to try to see if his scent matched this forest she was in. When it didn't, she relaxed a little. She hadn't thought she was trespassing, but had wanted to make sure. Hind quarters folded as she rocked back, lifting a leg and flailing it at her ear.

Damn flies. Terrible this time of year. Moira canted her head, a lopsided grin on her muzzle before she shook it - ears flicking lazily to shed the flies. "Or.. Not here.. or whatever the case may be." She was distracted -t he buzzing in her ear making it slightly hard to concentrate. But, she managed. Barely. Emerald optics landed on the other wolf, curiosu, waiting for his answer,.

He studied her through narrowed brows, his curiosity at an all time high with her distracted behaviour. As he watched her scratch at the flies buzzing around he couldn’t help but wonder if she was uninterested in the conversation and if, perhaps, he should leave her to her hunting. A frown unfolded across his maw as she spoke, asking him what he was doing here. His tongue clucked against the roof of his mouth as he debated on how to answer the green-eyed girl. XIX was unsure of how he felt about the peculiar wolf, but he could not make a decision based on such few words exchanged between the two.

“Looking for plants, patrolling — nothing exciting.” His words were paired with a soft roll of his shoulders. The scent of the Crest wolves was growing faint and the pale leader was curious as to what happened to their neighbours. Naia, of course, would be itching to find out, but soon she would not be able to travel long distances. For now it was up to Lachesis to do some scout-work and dig for information. However, it seemed that the wolf before him would not be useful in that department: she was far too new to the Lore to know anything about the wolves west of the palisade.
