Rainy Day Blues - Blitz - Apr 14, 2016 Random Event: Blitz, the rainy season is giving you a headache. Early evening. Light drizzle. 36*F/10*C [dohtml] Blitz was once again, in a very foul mood. But all things considered, this was no surprise when it came to temperamental male. Oh sure, he Niq'x and his cousins may have been reunited with Pip. And they may have a pack to back them up, with a sure supply of food and protection. But it wasn't ideal. This was not home. He wanted to be back by the sea, which he loved so much. Not cooped up in some thick, crowded forest like this one. Besides, it was too dry here for his liking. He had tried everything to make the annoying throb in the back of his skull go away. He tried hunting and patrolling, to try and keep his mind off it. When that didn't work, he sought the seclusion of his private den, hoping to try and sleep it off. When he awoke from a restless nap, the ache was still there. Growing more and more irritable by the second, Blitz pointedly avoided all major water sources in the area. Certainly in no mood to chit chat or be pestered by the pack, he headed to the far reaches of the territory, towards the bluffs. There, if he could reach the top, maybe the air would be cooler and dryer. Upon his arrival though, the ebony male was too dizzy to want to chance the climb. Instead, his burning green eyes settled onto the welcoming gape of a shallow cave dug out into the stone. He headed towards it, slightly optimistic, hoping he would find the relief he craved. Couldn't resist the combo :3 Did you mean to post this in the Limestone Bluffs subterritory? Was it better than the snow? It wasn't colder, but he hadn't minded the cold, because it was always easy to retreat to the comfort of the pack den with lots of cosy warm bodies. At least the snow had never actually made its way into that safe place... Tomen had been woken that morning during the particularly heavy morning's torrent by a steady stream of rainwater trickling into the den and around his paws. For some reason, he woke really, really needing to go to the toilet, so had decided to brave the weather, nose wrinkling as his fur was quickly wetted, dashing out into the forest in the hopes of finding a sheltered spot. One thing had led to another, and he'd found himself wandering beyond the pack's territory, having chased a false prey trail which had seemed so very strong in the rain (everything smelled stronger than normal, it was so deceptive). The clouds had begun to clear, temporarily, and Tomen had thought to catch a brief dry respite, but then the skies had opened up again... with a groan, he'd fled towards the nearby bluffs, and by habit had taken refuge in a small, familiar cave at ground level. He'd known exactly where to look for it, a perfect sheltered space which had kept him dry or hidden more than once. Ears held sideways as the water in his drenched fur slowly, slowly made its way down his body and gathered in a little pool where he sat, the boy had hidden in the cave for a while just listening to the rain when he heard wet footsteps. Perhaps they'd pass him by without noticing. But then a black wolfish face appeared, looking just as fed up as Tomen felt. The wetness made the smell easier to catch, the telltale musk of Grizzly Hollow, but more than that - this was one of the wolves Niq'x had brought with her! Her brother, if his nose told it true. Smiling wryly at the man, for he was not about to begrudge a pack mate a chance to escape the weather, he chirped jokingly: "beat you to it," but shuffled over a little to make more room, considering that the both of them probably wanted to preserve a comfortable personal space. Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - Apr 14, 2016 There are several fresh rabbit tracks in the mud. Hunt Opportunity RE: Rainy Day Blues - Blitz - May 18, 2016 Sorry for the delay! And the sub-territory adjustment has been made! [dohtml] Green eyes squinted, lips drawn down into a seemingly permanent grimace, Blitz had only shelter on his mind. Every droplet of rain that hit his fur was like a symbol of each and every of his nuisances. Or a reminder or memory of what he was missing back home. His true home. The sitting form of the young wolf, similarly colored to himself, was easy to miss, tucked away in the shadows of the crevice. And with his own mind distant, the Mizuno male had not spotted the wolf until he spoke. "So it would seem." He replied in his usual, somewhat gruff voice. Luckily, Blitz' one good quality was that he was incredibly tolerant around youngsters. So his demeanor was not entirely un-friendly, but he still did not appear terribly happy. Exchanging a glance with @Tomen, a crack of a smile, although lacking in amusement, worked to his maw. "I hope ya don't mind sharing? You look as sick of tha darn rain as I do." He peered at the kid with those piercing green eyes of his, looking for any sign of familiarity. He couldn't be related to Veho or Oula. His coat was too dark. So who then, might his parents be? Were they even here at all, or was he too, another misplaced soul? [/dohtml] RE: Rainy Day Blues - Tomen - Jun 09, 2016 The soft growl was met only with a smile, because Tomen thought he recognised it for what it was - a reflection of frustration about the weather and not to him. Besides, if this ocean wolf was anything like Niq'x, he would likely seem disagreeable at first, so the yearling was braced for that. With his body stiff and wet from the faint shivers, of course, he was literally braced for anything, but still. Tomen watched him as the man ducked inside the space wearing a grim look, and held back laughter. The ocean was big and wet, right? Surely a little rain was no big deal to wolves like that! Tomen ran over the names of those Niq'x had mentioned, and hoped that he remembered right. As the wolf offered his rough reply, manner hard but not hostile, Tomen returned the humourless smile with an exaggerated one of his own and scooted over to be more accommodating. "Of course," he chirped, unable to resist shaking his head just to get rid of the water droplets which had been running down his nose. He noticed the way in which the Mizuno peered at him, almost as though he recognised him, but that was silly. Tomen chose to ignore it, guessing from the man's demeanour that he wasn't huge on conversation - which was fine, Tomen could carry it. "It's Blitz, right? Niq'x and Pip's brother?" |
