the badlands are my cathedral - Veho - May 17, 2016 RE: Quickly melting snow has turned rivers into rapids. -- @Oula, @Hocus, @Rook, @Tomen, @Nineva, @Blitz, @Tyne, @Amaryllis, @Yvly, @Jaysyek, @Nix'q
Calling all hands on deck! In our last RE, tornadoes touched down...and now the rivers are coming up! Grizzly Hollow's woods are looking a little bit rough, so Veho is summoning the pack to start cleaning the place back up and replace/restore any caches that have been ruined. If you are working for a role, this is a good place to earn one of your threads! Hopefully will have a little hunting, some herb collecting, some general taking care of lands. [dohtml] Things had been – busy. Veho could have laughed. Busy. What an understatement. It was true that, at the moment, he had little roll to play in the rearing of his three children. They slept, they cried a little, they jostled with each other for Oula’s warmth. They’d have their fill of milk, and then they’d sleep again. Oh, he spoke to his little girls and his little boy, spoke their names, told them all kinds of things, but it wasn’t exactly interactive. His time was spent shouldering the responsibility of two alphas while his partner recovered, and, on top of that, making sure the warrior woman was fed, kept warm, and that he was available if she needed a break.
Really, he wanted to be able to do this sooner – but it simply wasn’t in the cards. Now that the children were a bit older, he had a spot more time; that time needed to be dedicated to the pack. Trotting out to the forest, he gazed around. Limbs had been knocked down in the winds. The river and its tributaries were high. There was so much to be done! It was simply too much work for one wolf. Tipping his head back, Veho let his song echo through the trunks and limbs. It was a call to all, with intention, but not urgency. There was no reason to call alarm. Round ends on 5/24!
RE: the badlands are my cathedral - Blitz - May 19, 2016 Note: It is to be assumed that @Pip is MIA, after this thread. htttp://www.relic-lore.net/showthread.php?tid=12219 [dohtml] Veho may not have been worried, but Blitz was. The silver patriarch couldn't have picked a better time to hold a pack meeting. There was work to be done. Cleanup in order, caches to be re-built and filled. And, one very important family member to find. Dark ears slicked back, the Mizuno unleashed his fury now, before he answered the Alpha's call. With a growl much like that of the constant thunder, a set of open jaws snapped towards a young sapling. With a click of the teeth and a mighty jerk of his head, the flimsy tree was rendered to shreds, uprooted from the ground. With a disgusted grunt, he spat out any remnants of bark or leaves, tail flicking restlessly. He hardly felt any better, even after that. He did not come up entirely empty handed. A stale scent belonging to that of his sister, still clung to the forest. Diligently, he tracked it, letting nothing or no one distract him. It led him to the river, and ended there. He wasn't at all surprised; his tawny sister had a love of the water, and fishing for that matter. But now that it was gone, a number of questions reeled in his head. Had she fallen in and got swept away? Maybe crossed to the other side? She could be anywhere by now. Emerging from the trees in answer to Veho's call, Blitz had already collected himself, and calmed his rage. The first on the scene, he seized this as a chance to get straight to the point. His slow steps, the lowered position of his head, and the dark glint in his venom eyes all spoke volumes. There was something seriously troubling him. "Veho..." He rumbled, while passing in front of the paler wolf. Taking a seat squarely in front of his superior, his eyes narrowed, in displeasure at the situation at hand. "We have a situation. Pip is missing. Her scent ends abruptly at Cut Rock River." Short and to the point, just how he liked it. While this was not why he had been summoned, the matter of his missing sister was of far more importance than cleaning up this stuffy forest. [/dohtml] |
