RE: come, let the revolution take its toll - Kjors - Oct 14, 2016

[dohtml]

Only supposed to be a game, but Kjors would be lying if he tried to insist that his daughter’s enthusiasm and vigor did not warm his cold, black heart.  Oh, such effort!  Teasing, meant for fun, but the tiny dragon was determined not to lose, even if the ‘fight’ was over something as silly as a teething stick.  His golden eye gleamed in the light as he watched her fall backwards, still for a moment.

You could practically hear the gears turning as Bennet’s mind whirled, undoubtedly coming up with a nefarious plan.

The one-eyed dragon was proven correct only a few moments later, the little girl coiling back and springing into the air.  While the movement was not at all graceful or pretty, her plan of action was indeed a clever one as teeth and jaws clamped around the girl’s prize.  Her entire weight hung from the stick, and while perhaps if Kjors really fought and struggled he might be able to hang on, what was the point of that?  The wolf tipped his head and released, Bennet and her prize falling a short way to the earth before he hummed, pleased with her ingenious idea.

“Good girl,”
he hummed.  “Very good.  Clever.”  The words probably meant little, but now that his child had her toy again, Kjors reached with one forearm to pull her close and begin to groom her fuzzy head, content for now with the silence broken only by their dedication to their tasks.

Fade.
