[TfT] Pheasant Feather - Spirit of Wildwood - Jun 20, 2016 Tit for Tat, This or That?It must have been a male bird that this feather fell from, since the plumage is bright and colored red, green, and brown. Seems like a fun thing to play with. RE: [TfT] Pheasant Feather - Zeta - Jun 20, 2016 The grey-scaled female plucked the feather delicately from the water. What a fancy array of colours this feather had! She picked it up from the base, so the feather stuck out from her maw like a rainbow pipe or trumpet. She stepped backwards, splashing softly as she reversed herself out of the lake. Her legs were wet from the knees down, and she trotted softly up the small beach to where the little feather and her could be safe. Unsure how else to carry a feather, she left it sticking out comically from her maw, as it over-announced every direction her head moved in, chomping securely down on its squishy white base. She didn't think she had even seen a bird this colour before, and would be curious to know what the whole thing looked like together with all of these feathers together. Her beryl-lime eyes gazed upwards, the waning sun overhead serving as a zeitgeber to begin heading back to towards Broken Timber Pines. The last time she had been here, she had felt much more urgent and concerned about her search. She had run into @Craw, and he had promised her to keep an eye out for her brother -- an incredibly kind thing to do for a stranger he had just met, which had made up for his ..uh, different socializing techniques. When he had showed up to her pack borders empty-handed, she had filed the occurrence right in with all of the other empty searches that she had done. While hope was not gone in the youth-hearted Argyris, her expectations had certainly come into a more realistic light. While she doubted she would ever stop truly searching for her brother, she managed her feelings a bit better now when he almost assuredly never showed up. Her emotions had been erratic the last few weeks. Sorrow, confusion, depression, excitement, disappointment, worry, hopeful, forlorn.. the list went on. Today, going through the normal motions of checking the extended radius she had given herself before she had to turn back for home, the feather that had caught her eye filled her with a stronger sense of contentment. It was a small token of cheerfulness, one that she would cling onto dearly for as long as she could. RE: [TfT] Pheasant Feather - Zeta - Jul 05, 2016 With the pheasant feather hanging out of her mouth, her mismatched green eyes nearly completely crossed as she gazed at its bright colours; the brown, green, and red intermingling together beautifully. She waved it back and forth, as though it were swimming through the air, feeling the resistance as it caught the wind. She wondered momentarily what it was like to fly; what a bizarre concept. Swimming was one thing, but being able to walk on air? Wow. Zeta uncrossed her eyes finally when they began getting sore and let the feather go blurry as she refocused on her surroundings. It seemed that she was still alone this time; no stranger to interest her in a conversation. And of course, no brother to return to her embrace. She breathed a slow and deep sigh. Another fruitless search in terms of wolves, but at least she had found a trinket for her entertainment. The silver lining was getting easier to see, even if it was because she was beginning to never expect to see what she was actually looking for. Content, the grey-scaled female turned south and began her return home to Broken Timber Pines, her new and colourful treasure in tow. |
