RE: steel magnolias - Ember - Apr 13, 2017

Ember was glad that her words could give the other girl at least a small dose of courage. Enough to get her to try. True to her promise, the young Reinier's eyes followed Kyna closely, paws keeping her within the other's shadow as she moved so to be right where she might be needed. As she'd hoped for, however, the beauty was successful. Ember grinned toothily up at her new friend, tail whipping through the air behind her.

Kyna's excitement was infectious, and oh gee, there she did it again. Wonderful, Ember was now, and the heat again brushed against her cheeks. Her tail curled lower but wagged quicker, displaying a different kind of pleasure. Her own slight embarrassment passed as Kyna initiated her own, quick to clarify her statement. This earned a kind laugh from Ember.

"Yeah, we're where the trees start getting really tall. Some of 'em are redwoods, which means they're huge, and there was a flood or something a long time ago so there's a bunch of 'em that've been knocked over. There's this one place, it's my favorite place, they all fell against each other in like, a stack, so you can climb really high and it feels like you're in the sky," she told her, before realizing that she was getting pretty wordy. Anyways, she was more interested in Kyna.

"What about you, where d'you come from?" she asked, neck still craned back to look up into those citrus eyes. They would go on like that, asking questions and giving answers, getting to know one another until the sun began to set and begrudgingly, Ember had to say goodbye to her friend.

As she walked away into the gathering dusk, she couldn't take her eyes off Kyna's retreating form. She would have to find her again, one day. They were meant to be good friends, she just felt it in her bones.
