There was only a full month of summer left now. Then the cooler winds of change would come, bringing with it the season of autumn. For the Vuesain, this symbolized two things; The time for her to depart Grizzly Hollow and her relatives and to return to her immediate family at the Lake. And second, the end of the relative abundance of medicinal plants. Once the leaves began to change, many of those herbs would be harder to find, or gone altogether. At least until next spring. With this in mind, the pale agouti girl made the most of the remainder of the season. She set out daily within the cedar forest, and the areas that surrounded it, seeking to expand and replenish her collection. Back home at the lake, there was not nearly as much diversity as there was here in the south. Neha had done well to take advantage of her time away, to gather what she could to bring back home.

In her stay with Veho and his pack, Neha had been quite busy, immersing herself in the studies of healing. With her Uncle busy so often, she was forced to learn on her own, most of the time. Not that she minded, as she had developed the mindset that learning on your own, by trial and error, was beneficial. Still...her reasons for staying with the pack for so long were not solely for educational purposes. She was also here to develop bonds with her Uncle, Aunt and cousins. But as she had discovered, she had not been the only one who had been so preoccupied. Oula and Veho were first time parents...a challenge in of itself. On top of that, they had the responsibilities of the pack to look after. Neha often wondered how they did it, balancing such different but demanding tasks at the same time. Knowing that her Uncle had to put certain priorities first, the would be healer only sought him out occasionally, never taking up too much of his time, though she yearned for more.

As she sat outside of her own personal den, which doubled as her infirmary, she peered thoughtfully into the second chamber of the hollow tree trunk. Critically, her brown eyes roved over her collection. A modest assortment of herbs, some more plentiful than others, neatly set aside in their own designated pile. And in the far corner, the empty turtle shell she had found at the falls, now thoroughly dry, but still nowhere near falling apart. She wondered...did she have enough to take back with her? With a shake of her head, she clicked her tongue. Of course she did! But the next step was in the fine art of how to apply these herbs, to understand their usage. Which, had been a little tricky, since Neha and the Hollow wolves had been lacking in any true patients to treat. With a sigh, the princess turned away and gazed down at her paws. Maybe now, she should seek out her Uncle. He surely would have much more knowledge than her, to which she could greatly benefit. And, a critique of her efforts wouldn't hurt either. He was experienced...Neha had no such background. She looked up to the man enough to take any criticism, negative or constructive if it would help broaden her understanding. Hoping that he may not be too tied up at the moment, the young student raised her head and called softly for him.
